New Oculus Quest 2 Model Announced

Sales of the current model are paused while Facebook readies the new model.

There have been some rumors swirling around for a bit that Facebook was going to announce some new VR hardware soon. And while that rumor is true, this probably isn't the hardware announcement some fans may have wanted.

Today, Facebook announced that they will be releasing a slightly upgraded Oculus Quest 2 model to consumers. Starting on August 24, all base Quest 2 VR headsets will ship with a...

Facebook Bringing Ads to Oculus Quest Apps

    This is fucked up.

According to a new report from The Verge, Facebook will soon place ads within Oculus Quest apps. Over the next several weeks, ads will begin appearing in games like Blaston from Resolution Games in addition to two other apps that have yet to be named. Facebook says that they will "expand" the system based on user feedback. It claims that they are aiming to create a "self-sustaining platform" for VR development.

    This isn't even the...

Blair Witch: Oculus Quest Edition Out Now

Built specifically for the VR experience.

The Oculus Store got a little bit more spooky today. No, I'm not talking about how it's run by Facebook, that's certainly frightening in its own right. No, I am talking about how Blair Witch: Oculus Quest Edition was just released on the Oculus Store for $29.99 (USD).

Blair Witch: Oculus Quest Edition is a "story-driven, psychological VR horror game that immerses players in with the terror hidden in the Black Hills Forest."...

Facebook Reportedly Bringing Splinter Cell Back... as a VR Game

Who wished on a monkey's paw?!

There is a story circulating today saying that Facebook may have already signed deals with Ubisoft to bring back Splinter Cell and a new Assassin's Creed title. That's not the weird part. The weird part here is that the deal is to create VR games in these two popular franchises. And since it's Facebook that pushed the deal, that would mean that the games would be Oculus "exclusive" and sold through their Oculus Store.

    This is, at...
