Review: Last Year: The Nightmare (PC)

A solid asymmetrical survival-horror game that's light on content.

Asymmetrical multiplayer games have been going steady for the past few years now. Some of the biggest games in that particular genre include the long departed Evolve, the still ongoing Dead by Daylight, and even Friday the 13th if you're into that sort of thing. You can now add in Last Year: The Nightmare to the mix as it combines 5 versus 1 multiplayer with elements of survival-horror. What it delivers is a well-crafted gameplay experience that ultimately comes up short on content. Last Year: The Nightmare relies on a number of tried and true horror movie clich├ęs. The group of teenagers include the nerdy kid, the popular girl, a stereotypical jock, and m...

Epic Games Buys Easy Anti-Cheat Makers

Epic Games, the studio behind a little game called Fortnite, just announced that they have bought the company, Kamu, behind the anti-cheat software that is appropriately called Easy Anti-Cheat.

Fret not, however, because developer Kamu says that they will continue to work with other developers and other game engines for their anti-cheat solutions. Epic's Tim Sweeney also offered up his own thoughts on this new acquisition.

Daemonical Delivers Scary Asymmetrical Multiplayer Today on Steam Early Access

Those who enjoy "frightening" PvP style games like Dead by Daylight or even Friday the 13th, probably already know about a new entry in the genre that released into Early Access today.

It's called Daemonical and as you may have figured, it's a game of kill or be killed as a group of humans tries to complete a ritual all the while being hunted by a demon. It's a tale as old as time.

Daemonical is available right now on Steam for $14.99 (USD). I have the gameplay details below along with the launch trailer and some new screenshots.

Here Are the Top 100 Selling Games on Steam in 2016

Valve did something a bit different this year. They have compiled a list of Steam's top 100 grossing titles in 2016. They have broken the list into four categories to give you some idea of how well they sold. Of course, specifics about revenues are not disclosed.
    - Platinum: The first through 12th best seller
    - Gold: 13th - 24th best seller
    - Silver: 25th - 40th top seller
    - Bronze: 41st - 100th top seller

In Platinum you're looking at games like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Fallout 4, and No Man's Sky. It even includes Dota 2 a free-to-play game. Yep, people spent enough on microtransactions for that game that it's in the top 10 biggest...
