Though Rockstar doesn't seem too concerned.

Over the weekend, Rockstar Games confirmed that they suffered a data breach by an outside party.

The confirmation of the data breach was made in a Rockstar statement to Kotaku, saying that "a limited amount of non-material information was accessed in connection with a third-party data breach." Rockstar's statement continues on to say, "this incident has no impact on our organization or our players."

Cloud Imperium Games (CIG), the development studio behind Star Citizen, says that some of their systems were breached by hackers and that some personal data of users was stolen. This security breach happened in January 2026 and is just now being disclosed to the public.

Red Barrels, the studio behind the Outlast games, including the co-op multiplayer title The Outlast Trials, has suffered a "cybersecurity event." This event being an unauthorized intrusion into their internal systems and access to "some of its data."

The stolen files include full builds of Ready or Not for PlayStation and Xbox.

Void Interactive, the studio behind the tactical shooter Ready or Not, has reportedly been hit by a massive hack. According to images and descriptions of files shared to Insider Gaming, millions of files were stolen from the studio. These files reportedly include the source code for Ready or Not, unreleased console builds of the game, and much more.

Right in the middle of the Summer Game Fest Kickoff Live, CD Projekt Red took to Twitter to reveal just how severe the cyberattack was against their studio. Late last night, word broke that over 7.6 million accounts were leaked as part of a BlankMediaGames data breach. BlankMediaGames is the studio that develops and operates the popular browser based role-playing game Town of Salem. The news first broke at the data mining and search database site DeHashed. They were sent an email on December 28, 2018 from an anonymous source. The email provided evidence of server access and provided the complete database to DeHashed for verification.
