    Sony Finally Allowing Cross-Play Between PlayStation and Other Platforms

    Sony is finally starting to allow cross-platform play between the PlayStation 4 and other platforms, namely the Xbox One. Granted, there is only one game that you can test at the moment but it's a start!

    This update represents a major policy change for Sony. Even as recently as June, the company was actively blocking cross-play with other platforms, effectively making the PlayStation 4 a gaming island.

    Google announced today (and will talk about more at GDC 2014) about their upcoming plans for Google Play Games. First off, they revealed that they are introducing game gifts to the service. This will allow players to send virtual in-game goods to anyone in their circles or through player search. In addition, the company plans to expand their Google Play Game services by expanding multiplayer to support iOS.
