Path of Exile 2 has gone from being merely an expansion to the original Path of Exile to being a full standalone sequel. Announced at ExileCon 2019, Path of Exile was originally slated to just be an expansion to the free-to-play ARPG. With this weekend's latest reveal at ExileCon 2023, game director Jonathan Rogers says that the scope of Path of Exile 2 "continued to grow and grow."

Over on Steam, the Early Access for Torchlight III is now live. This is the latest in the action-RPG series from Echtra Inc. and published by Perfect World. May Runic Games rest in peace.

The latest is set a mere 100 year after the events of Torchlight II. There's a launch trailer and some new details on the launch of the game into Early Access that provides additional insight on today's release.

The change away from the F2P model is only one of the many changes planned.

Perfect World Entertainment and developer Echtra Games announced today that they are no longer releasing Torchlight Frontiers. They will instead convert this planned F2P release of the game into a proper sequel, Torchlight III. The current plan for this new installment in the action-RPG genre is to get it out on Steam at some point this Summer.

Path of Exile is coming to the PlayStation 4, as announced today via the official Path of Exile Twitter account. The action-RPG makes the move to the PS4 this December. Its release will go hand-in-hand with the 3.5.0 expansion that hits the PC and Xbox One versions on December 7. More details on that particular bit of content is coming next week....

In a brief video, posted on Twitter, Blizzard says that they have "multiple Diablo projects in the works." They go on to say that they will have "some things to show you later this year." At least one of those projects is probably the Diablo comic that was mentioned back in July. As for the rest, we can only guess for now.
