Two new content updates are coming out soon for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The first is the free 2.0 update that will include Brewster and his coffee shop named The Roost, which is attached to the in-game museum. The other update is a piece of paid DLC called Happy Home Paradise that will allow you to design the home of your dreams and a new archipelago location.

Nintendo has finally revealed the pricing and availability date for their Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership. This is the more expensive tier of Nintendo Switch Online that will grant subscribers access to N64 and Sega games as well as Animal Crossing: New Horizons' Happy Home Paradise DLC. This DLC can be purchased for $24.99 (USD) on its own if desired.

A new Direct to air on October 15.

Nintendo announced that Animal Crossing: New Horizons will have a specially dedicated Nintendo Direct next week. On Friday, October 15 at 7AM (PT), Nintendo will air a roughly 20-minute long steam that focuses on the future of the game.

This stream will apparently talk about the upcoming November update that will arrive for the game. This update is rumored to include Brewster and a coffee shop addition to the in-game museum.

GameStop announced that it is closing over 300 stores this year. These closures are part of their continued efforts to "de-densify" and was announced during the latest earnings call for the dying gaming focused retailer. Last fiscal year, the company revealed that they closed 321 stores. This brought their total number of locations to 5,500 storefronts. GameStop, the physical retailer that sells video games and video game accessories, told all of its stores today that they should remain open. A memo sent to all store managers says that all stores should remain open even if the city or state goes on lockdown to protect against the spread of Covid-19. On the evening of January 18th, Nintendo announced that they will be holding a new Direct on February 20, 2020 at 6AM (PT). This isn't one of their typical Direct streams though. This will be a Direct that is focused solely on Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Nintendo made this announcement in a brief tweet. They say that this New Horizons Direct will feature an "in-depth look at Nook Inc.'s Deserted Island Getaway Package."...
