A bit of a rare oddity and a treat for the community today. I had the chance to talk to one of the biggest names in the Battlefield 2 cheating community, Maz. He has agreed to talk to us to clear up a lot of misconceptions and questions people have asked time and time again, here's a snippet:
Can you comment on the latest video that was displayed recently which showcased some sort of "mega hack" which allowed for basically any changes to be made without any threat from Punkbuster?
If you mean the 'godfrack' hack, then yes I can. It is a single player mode hack. While you may believe it was not, because of the bots having real names, I can assure you it is fake. Most things in the video (Such as the rapid anti tank gun with unlimted ammo are actually just the animation cycling over and over again.) No actual bullets are fired. Due to the fact that this is a server based game (as in, multiple clients connect to a host) there is only certain aspects that can be altered, and that has to do with interpreting the information that is sent to you. You have no effect over information being sent, as the server has error checks.
