i preordered bf2 almost two months in advance. this game however will not be bought in advance or purchased off the shelf. maybe i will buy it if i can find it cheap, like maybe from a pawn shop. lol

The main reason that I love all of the bf games is because they are about real militaries with real guns and realistic maps. Im really into military stuff, since I plan on joining the military when Im older, and I know a lot of military guys play this game because of that, so I dont think a lot of people will like the idea of the futuristic stuff. I don't like Halo because its about space aliens and future technology like laser guns and stuff, and now battlefield is making a game like that.

The money doesn't bother me, game looks really cool - I like the Mech's. Another one for the collection in time.

I read about the Mechs in PC gamer...sounds like a bad choice to make them anti everything....anti air/tank/troop....

I'll open this post by saying I'm sure I'll buy this. I'm a stat junkie. I admit it.

So long as there is some balance, this should be fun. If the stealth mode is their way of fixing the sniper suit as THE most visible uniform in BF2 it better be seriously limited. There also better be some weapons that take the mechs down in one shot. Hopefully they won't use ice as the backdrop for too many maps as that will get real old quickly. The trailer kinda reminded me of Ground Control, the only RPG I ever really liked. So I guess I'm sayin', if it's done right it could be a winner.

Now, they say fall 2006 for release. If that's true it will be one buggy POS considering they haven't really finnished BF2 yet. And if it uses shaders like BF:SF that could be the catalyst to make me start building the next rig. My current machine is about maxed out getting decent frames with vanilla BF2. Based on EA usual optimistic forecasts, this will get released at Xmas or early 2007.

Anyone think think that they'll tweak the engine so that it makes use of more than one processor, this would be a major reason for me to buy it.

bf2142 is a better idea than playing a war you can have for REAL next door..

From how it looks right now, all it appears to be is a mod. A mod in the sense of the same gameplay, nothing fantastically new. The idea is cool, but a $50 mod? Not too happy.

First off way to go EA/DICE for stealing Quake Wars.. second, why does this seem like a mod more than a complete game.. third, why is my BF2 still acting up, and your creating a new game? Is this gonna be like BF:V where you tweaked the '42 engine, and then went on to abandon the game in its whole? I loved this series of games, but watching EA/DICE quickly create content in the name of BF, and then hastily move on to another project without ever fully completing the last project has disgusted me. I'm not hating on anyone planning on buying this game, because I know why.. you love BF and theres nothing wrong with that.. but for me this is the last straw, BF2 is not even a year old, and already more bs is being created. Thanks a lot.. but I'll be sure to buy Quake Wars instead of a game I know will be bug ridden and half-assed.

(BTW First Strike mod team.. still nothing but love for you guys!)
