Ok so.. first off.. No way EA/Dice will pull that off by fall 06. Take my word for what its worth.

2. I bet it’s a modded bf2 engine
3. Everything in the video could be done in bf2 with the right mod
4. I want my da** game fixed before starting on a new project
5. You (EA) are going to screw yourselves over with this one if you produce a beta game like you did with bf2.
6. If at all it is buggy I will go call EA support for 9 hours until they admit they screwed up.
7. And finally I am starting to take bets on which year it will be released.

I think it looks awesome. Of course, I'll also be buying Quake Wars (seriously, why just play one?) Annnnd, I think Bf2 is a great game. It's sad you all have so little fun playing it, it's an amazing piece of software.

BF2 is a good game. Though it can be frustrating at times, like most games. The only thing I really don't like about the game is the crybaby community attached to it.

I'll buy the stupid thing, ONLY if it has CTF.

It is a little infuriating honestly though, this whole thing explains why the patch support for BF2 at least for the first 8 months was completely horrible and atrocious.

I am very skeptical of this new game. It looks appealing but I'm afraid it may just be a lot of fluff and no substance.

I doubt it will ever be released, won't bet on it but i don't think a lot of people will buy it, it looks like mech warrior with a side of Halo and a la carte BF2 engine

Looks great, bf2 is getting boring after the 1000's of hours i've put into it with pubbing and competitve gaming. Had 2 really good cal seasons..quarter finals cal o and quarter finals cal main. This game really looks like a step in the right direction. The concept is a good one and I didn't expect a story line like that for the sequal. With their knew beta testing software hopefully they can balance the game properly this time. A lot of the fixes will be implemented from the current bf2 engine into the new game. This game looks like it will add a lot of depth to teamwork and will add a lot of fun tools. Cloaks, NV, IR prolly. There will be multiple gernades now too. Frag/smoke/Emp...i read that there will be new commander tools too. I've always loved mechs and was disapointed when I stoped hearing from the MTS team. I want to get the new quake wars game ,however, being quake the bunny hopping will be twice as bad and even though I like that a lot of the noobs who ruined bf2 by bitching to dice will bitch to the QW dev team too. EU vs PAC I see room for expansions too which I don't mind buying because I get bored playing the same maps for 100s of hours. Its not like this is pacman anymore and these maps need to be balanced so I wouldn't be giving away all these maps either. In 1942 the maps were a lot easier to create and balance... now there are so many diff textures and using the same buildings would look bad on the 26th map or so. I've never moded before but I heard its a pretty lengthy process to get statics and vehicles in game. Lots of different layers to model and differen't lod's to model. O well i'm going to sleep glad this got on the fron page /rant

That's a pretty absurd doubt considering DICE and presumably EA has probably already dumped a bunch of money into the project, they're going to want to see a return on that investment at some point. Business 101, catch it!

It does look like the same engine. I will be buying I just hope they dont use the same sounds.

Don't be so confident in your assumptions. A lot of BF fans are fans of either modern or historic war games. A lot of BF fans are not into sci fi shooters. This game looks like a radical departure from the last three BF games.

Oh this game looks great and I know I am going to end up buying it. I used to play some of the old Mech games and than some of the newer ones; they were really great and very fun bot on bot.
To the people who used to always say "Quake Wars is going to kick BF2's ass?"
Well BF2 wasn't the competition to Quake Wars and this is; well see how either side works it out. It is kind of pointless to compare a game that will not be released for awhile than a game that has been fully released with 2 weeks at most of some minority suffering.
Quake Wars has some pretty eye candy but I wanna see some live unedited in-game footage like they partially showed on here; still gonna get Quake Wars also.

DID you play from day one? I ran The Hawks for about 6 months, then the game got to clitchy to play.
