this is stupid but it will seperate the kiddies from the soldiers and dis respect the old bf community,I mean the could try to add more content to there game instead of replace it with space crap .I would of recomended a naval army in bf2 but no that was in the old bf42 or the ability to go underwater and more vehicles would of been tops

1) There's no way the game is coming out this fall. You can always bet DICE and any other game dev for that matter, never meet deadlines. Expect a Spring 2007 release.

2) Half of the stuff mentioned in PC Gamer for this game will be cut out.

EA needs to get BF2 working first b4 they start coming out with anything eles... we all know that EuroForce and Armored Fury and SF was just to make a quick buck......hell they released 2 patches and cant even get the FhKing game right.... all i have to say is if EA keeps this $h!t up i wont be buying another game made by them..... they can go FhK themselfs

EA will not be getting my money no more. Nice story line however, the game looks like ****. Isn't there a law against this ****? We don't even get a finished product before they start working on another game? Fall 2006, can't imagine what this game will have bug wise. BF2 is ok, but the idea of paying for the booster packs, and all it just seems like a huge waste of money. With all this they can't even hire someone to test custom maps so we can play them on ranked server, instead of playing the same old gay ass maps all the time.

I can't wait for mods to drop. I hope PoE or USI released before the next booster so they can steal all EA's precious customers looking for new content away. What a greedy buch of **** heads EA is. They don't listen to no one, they release **** now. We have to pay for what was giving to us for free in BF42, and Vietnam. Not only that its not no where as good as the quality of those maps.
Why has DICE/EA sunken to an all time low?

People like BF series because you can jump in a tank, or any other vehicle, and see the power of such awesome machines. I am sure the star wars geeks, and other retards who aren't true fans of this series will go.. SOUNDS SUPER LAME.. Mechs come on ffs...

Hey EA, before you publish/release more s:censored:t to further ehance your profits...why don't you consider addressing the problems in Battlefield 2 first?

If you would have released Euro Forces and Armoured Fury as free booster packs, maybe that would have given people more of an incentive to purchase Battlefield 2?! It would have also not split up the community as much either! Take a look at Epic for example, see how many free booster packs they release for Unreal Tournament 2004, they gave out new free maps and character models at no charge what-so-ever. Look at Steam and Counter-Strike. Valve brought back many of the classic maps. Did they charge for them? Nope! If you weren't so greedy, maybe alot more people out there would consider giving your company a higher reputation, instead your reputation stands as publishing buggy games with little to no support and everything that you include as add-ons for the games, you charge for!!! Consider making the game run better for the people who enjoy it the most instead of releasing extra s:censored:t.

There might be a good chance for this to be actually released fall 2006 (=chri$tma$ mark€t) since it's already been a year and a half since BF2s release.
Seems to me like a BF:V-for-BF2 too so it's not really a sequel that would "need" to have a whole new game-engine.

...and people will be crying after the release why they can't have these important features like hovercrafts and buddylists even though DICE PROMISED them in a payola-magazine-hype-preview 6 months before the release...

Judging by that video, 2142 doesn't really look that appealing to me but pre-release BF2 videos never had anything to do with actual gameplay of the game either so I'll wait for more info on this one. Same goes with QuakeWars.

Squad leaders will now deploy special beacons to allow squad members to respawn by him, so the leader will be able to join the fight while teammates are respawning unlike BF2. But the beacon can be destroyed, or camped until it's naturally destroyed.

To be quite honestly, this (presumably pre-alpha) vid was remarkably unimpressive. So it's BF2 with mechs. Whoop-de-doo.. :/ The art direction and setting have me completely unmoved, and I'm honestly not attracted by all that sci-fi gadgetry - seems to me like a cheap attempt to defend their franchise against the Enemy Territory: Quake Wars upstart.. and honestly, it doesn't look or sound half as impressive or innovative. I can still feel the bad taste of BF:V in my mouth.. :/

However: if they manage to keep the core BF2 gameplay intact, improve the teamplay/squad/commo systems, and manage to both diversify and balance the different factions, classes and vehicles.. I can really see it being an overall improvement of BF2. It's all up to what new features they manage to creep in there without making the game feel like an episode of Inspector Gadget.

In short: I'm highly sceptical, but giving Dice the benefit of my doubt at this point.
