Well, we all know were all the man power has been shifted to, its all about the new game. I am not surprised, they havent fix BF2 and they are coming out with another. It looks more like a mod than anything else.

To tell you the truth, I saw this coming the moment I saw mod teams making all the sci fi themes mods for BF2.

That's what game companies do. They look at what the most popular themes are and strike up a tent. Kinda screws the mod teams, though.

EA/Dice saw what Splash-Damage is cooking up with ETQW and felt threatened, plain and simple. Their fear and intimidation will ultimately result in a sub-par product that will fail to outperform and outsell the competition. Releasing BF2 when it still had major bugs back last summer was a bad move. If this movie is real footage it will drive away many of the hardcore BF2 fans for it shows where all the EF money is going: crappy footage from (seemingly) a crappy game. EA/Dice just wants more money and with ETQW coming out soon, a significant number of their fanbase will leave and goto bigger and better projects.

If BF2142 is anything more than a Booster Pack or X-Pack, EA/Dice can kiss the BF franchise goodbye. Something better will come along eventually.*

*: I am not referring to ETQW specifically, as I'm sure other major game developers/publishers (Microsoft Games Inc. for one) will undoubtedly jump on the band-wagon and make a Sci-Fi FPS (not counting Halo of course).

WOW, this looks like so much fun, and yes it looks like a mod, and its being released to early and bla bla bla. but man ive been wanting a bf game with mecs for so long. it sounds awesome. If it comes out ill buy it no daubt. Now QW looks awesome also.

...Why is everyone bashing this thing to be another BFV? First of all I think BFV had alot of good elements that BF1942 didnt have, I might not be as hardcore BF2 as most of you, but I do think BFV had alot of good things going for it, The game was just fun, As for BF2142 or whatever they call it. Looks like it could be fun?...Would I pay 50$ ? No.. 10$? Maybe, Looks like I'd be cool to have once in awhile to bust out when I'm bored of Karkand 24/7.

by the looks of that trailer the gameplay looks like a mod/expansion, but ea makes it look like a new game with the intro and crap, I hope its a $9.99 expansion because if its a whole new game thats just sad of ea to do, then well really know whoever is running the bf team is a dumbass..

whatever it is, lets just hope the canadians arnt making it because it will defently suck if they do

Like every one is saying this is way to early for another BF release. I for one would rather spend my money on a game like QW that looks like a killer app and will take all my BF2 time up. SCREW BF2142

Why does DICE keep going from Past - Present - Future....???

Why not fix the problems from the past and then start to work on the more "future" type games?

People who are star wars fans and everything good for you because this looks alot more futureistic BUT why sweep the past under the carpet?

This has to be a big joke...or else this is very sad. BF franchise is going way off course...Seems like EA are just trying to steal all the money from the community by releasing Expanison Packs and this, which are all rip-offs.

p.s.: My micromedia/flash is broken/doesn't play sound...so I can't hear anything - Can somebody upload this on some other source?
