I never really liked all the fantasy type games like World of Warcraft but now that BF2 is making a new war type game set for later on I'm really not lokking forward to this new game at all.

Recently the Armed Assault team has been putting out more screenshots, seems the game is close to being finished. Now they just need to get the final details right with the publisher.

And lastly, to all of you Quake wars fan boys........pfffffff, man go somewhere else. The f**ing game is no where near out and all we've seen is some totally scripted video which all of you should know that we've been duped by those before! Everyone thought Joint ops was going to take out BF and Soldner , ya that was supposed to take out BF, bla bla bla bla.......I dont believe **** till I see it.

Okay, at the risk of being a thread hijacker, I've got to rebut you here. I love BF2. That's why I'm on these boards. The game is great fun. However, I am very much looking forwards to ET:QW. Not because I like Quake; I think Q4 was a derivative popgun shooter. I'm looking forward to it because ET:RTCW (that's Return to Castle Wolfenstein) was the absolute "pimp shizzle" for over a year. I loved that game, and it was Splash Damage's first. ET:QW is the next in the series, the next game from Splash, and one with a much increased budget. With the record of the series and the developer, I can't help but get giddy at the thought of more ET. As far as I am concerned, my money is theirs to lose, not to win. Unless something comes out of the blue to screw the game up, it should rock hardcore.

Whew. Sorry about that. Just had to defend my favorite series.

Yes that was good a while back but for now its woefully out of date. This isnt any different from Goldeneye fans who cling on to old memories. Perfect Dark zero turned out to be really bad.

There might be a good chance for this to be actually released fall 2006 (=chri$tma$ mark€t) since it's already been a year and a half since BF2s release.

It's looking like an old whore in a new dress IMO.If they had taken their time with BF2 and released a fully functional finished product instead of pushing it out so they could clear the deck for the next installment of the series they may have found the community more receptive to this 2142 concept.

Mark my words, they'll put 2142 out, it'll crater and EA will draw down its involvement in PC gaming in favor of consoles.

As a long time Enemy Territory player,I'm looking forward to Quake Wars.As a BF2 player, I'm indifferent to the idea of BF2142 at this point.

Global ice age? Fighting off the hordes that don't want to freeze to death? Meh.
