    Re: SWAT Mod Update

Well, I like the concept of a SWAT mod for BF2. But those weapons models and the SWAT character model need to be reviewd and fixed up for the final release.
Kudos to you and the tema. I will be watching this mod.

At least it's not another Godforsaken WW2 mod!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi guys! Thanks for the comments and critics.

The player model is a good 5-10 feet. We've begun placing some of the models ingame, and the player model is the first on the list. He acturally looks pretty decent thus far. The P90 is quite different from what you would expect. I modeled it that way specificly because there is going to be a p90 in the booster pack, so to try and keep things kinda different, I mounted a fore-attachment onto it. I do have a vote tho. I have a slightly different model of the p90 from what you see. I orignally made it look more like a p90. So let us know if you guys want it to look more like this.

Again, thanks for all the help.

            Re: SWAT Mod Update

The work really looks good, The M4 is very nice looking and the P90 is nice as well(I like the second version of it, shown in the thread, more). I just have two gripes.

            1. The "Scorpion" kinda bugs me. Aside from not looking like a not very workable gun(multiple aspects, wont get into it), its just a bit wierd to invent some random gun to put in the game. I could understand if it was futuristic, or supposed to be happening in another world, but seeing M4's, P90's, and invented guns in the same game is just kind of off.

            2. I agree with others, Refractor2, or whatever they call this revised refractor version, really probably isn't a good engine for this game. BF2 is more focused on large areas with vehicles, rather than close quarters combat. You can play with things, but honestly, you are trying to make tofu into a turkey. People might eat it, people might even like it, but it won't be turkey.

I wouldn't reccomend you to start with getting the player models ingame.
For first release you should reskin bf2's characters and then get player modelers ingame.

definitely got a point there - reskinning the bf2 player models would also be a real sinch to do well and would save you the tedious trial and error of getting a non bf2 player model working correctly.... you may also be able to use alot of the standard animations for your weapons

                    Yeah.
For the M4 you could use the standard animation, but then theres no point of having the front grip thingy.
IMO you should just remove it to same some polys and it'd make the animations fit better.

hahahahaha i never thought about tht but now tht you say it me too lol - its because the head is far too large (it is very disproportionate to the body lol), giving him a very "marionet" look... anyone who has done some life drawing and knows the proper dimensional rules for the human figure should see this... realistically he should be about one head length taller whilst retaining the actual head size....

I think the Swat model/skin looks awesome. I see no noticable errors what-so-ever.

I actually an see that a little bit, but as I said... it isn't really noticable to the general gaming community.
