    Re: January Newsletter

once again, this does nothing for the god like jets and the hideous non-effective AA guns/missles. why can't something be done to make the disparity better. you will find that most of the anger with the game comes from the lack of map packs (which are coming, of course at a price) and also the imbalance of the jets and the ground forces. do a search! can't EA see this. this is what most folks are arguing about and wanting changed. i'd rather go against 10 bunny hopping troops rather than 1 immortal jet any day-

    my 2 cents.

The people who are talking bout the mods. The reason why they don't get looked at as much as the original game is because, for the most part... THEY AREN'T AS GOOD! I've played many mods for games, and yes, they are fun for a little while, but most of them are poorly made compared to the orginal game. I notice that many lag A LOT compared to the original game.

The only BIG mod that has impressed me would be CS and Source:Forts.

i would wait for the mods, i mean i think that the people who make the mods are much better than the guys who do this at ea. plus, my mod with have the famas and p-90, and so will alot of other great mods out there, why bother buying it.

The mods are great IMO. But official expansions are good too. its also a sign that the original game hasnt been forgotten and many people are still playing it.

it also shows ea hates mods (personally i think bf42 was more mod friendly) and they also want more money so they can use us as a mililitary to take the world over for them.

OMG... you, and everyone out there who says EA hates mods seriously need to think before stateing something that stupid.

Making an expansion pack DOES NOT MEAN THE COMPANY HATES MODS! I don't know how you'd come up with such a stupid thought. Making expansions just allow them to make the game last longer which, if you think about it, helps the mod out as the game isn't considered "out of date" in a year since no new stuff is going into it.

I've stated this many times before, MODS = PROFIT AND EA KNOWS IT THATS WHY THEY GAVE THEM FREE TOOLS! I'll explain this.... Games with good mods will get people wanting to play those mods. Since you need the original game to play the mods, EA will make a profit from a good mod (there prob hopeing for a mod like CS as we all know, Valve prob made tons just for haveing that mod for Half-life).

If EA hated mods, they would sue the people making them. simple as that. Many game companies DO sue mod teams... which is very sad IMO

this is battlefield, dont comapre them with CS/half life. the mods for 1942 polvorized(sp?) dice's expantion packs. FH/DC,etc. dont get me wrong, dice will probably be makin a good booster pack, but all i'm saying is that the mods for battlefield 2 are looking great so far. and no, they're not fun for just a little while, if i can remember well, DC final mod for 1942 was being played more than regular bf1942 or any of the pathetic "Road to Rome" exp, and "secret weapons(knida good but, meh). and "THEY AREN'T AS GOOD"??? WTF, w8 and u'll see m8.

Why can't I compare? Last time i checked it was a FPS, with arcade like elements and it's a game. Yes, it is a good comparision and the comparision I made was true. Look how many copys of HL CS sold. Heck, I got HL2 just to play CS:S.

I said the mods that I have played for games. READ! A lot of mods are poorly built and if they are built well, they get the "media".

Remeber what you say too. That's your opinion. Some people might have liked those expansions. Like for SF, I think it was awesome (better then any mod I've seen for BF2 yet).

Don't yell at me for stateing the truth about how mods make money for the company. It's true. EA wants a big hit mod like CS to help sell it's product!

(...Might I ask why I can't compare HL to BF?)

Well then, if they don't like it, then they should STOP COMPLAINING and do what they have to do with the other games on the market that don't come with the mod tools.

It's free... do you expect it to be top of the art?

I really want POE mod to get here before I spend any more damn $$$ on EA stuff that is never fixed. They have some serious problems over at EA if they think people will buy more stuff for a game that has never been fixed in the first place!

gezz, stop talking, have you even used it. most if not all mods are having problems with them, half the stuff they have listed in it doesnt even works and everyone else has to make everything that ea left out, people who dont work for ea are doing just as much work on it, its a **** editor out of all the ones iv used, now shut up.

You don't have to use it if you don't want to. Your not getting my point. They spent time/money to build it to try to help out the modding community. You and the other people are taking spazes as stuff's not working for yous and saying that "EA HATES MODS!" when you really are not looking at it from a profit making standpoint. Maybe this will help...

Mods = more people get interested in game = more sales (which could lead to the sales of the expansions!)

P.S. Yes, I have tried to use it but I have no experiance in visual programming. I only have experiance useing text base programming with Java
