Yea? Well I have a feeling that a mod ranking system will be developed, perhaps independently from EA. And why do you guys play for some "rank" that just gives you a sig you can show off? Its all just hype, that ruins the real experience of playing a good game (IMO).

I can see that the only way mods can compete with EA's mini releases, is to have a co-op type organization, kind of like a union of mods. And for this organization to developed an independent ranking system from EA, that incorporates all major mods. That is, if EA will allow it...

It already has, and DICE have given it the green light.

          yes this true,

well i paid $ 30 ozzie dollars for SF mod, and i only played it 3 times in 2 months, so i guess SF mod should of been $10 too, however, there still have not fixed the core BF2 game its self,

It is a bit disappointing in certain respects, too.

No real want to make things accurate: Nobody uses the Famas F1 anymore, afaik, all current models being the G2(which is a fairly noticable difference). I don't believe any army currently uses the HK53 in active service. Sa80 as the main assault rifle? Why? The British are the smallest land army out of the three major european ones(France, Britain, Germany). Would have made more sense to make another G36, use the G3, or something along those lines.

Would have been nice to seen some of the less obvious european weapons in. Sig 552 comes to mind(for special operations troops).

Two different types of tanks? Why? I know the european army would be diverse, but its only three maps... you couldn't have just used the Leo 2a6, and added something like a british warrior(is that their latest ifv?), or an AMX-10RC. Eurocopter and Eurofighter are good choices, though I would have liked to see the Mirage 2000 as a fighter-bomber.

No transport helicopter for the Europeans? Would have been easy to just use a dauphin.

The europeans get the freaking SRAW. What the hell? You have a french anti-tank weapon in the game already, and you give the europeans a rocket launcher none of them use in real life? Inane!

I think the HK-21 was a bad idea. I don't believe any european nations use it atm, as a standard weapon. The MG3, or FN Minimi, would have been the best choices(If they wanted to make more unique weapons, use the Minimi, and model a milan for the europeans, instead of the freaking tow).

There is more, but its late, and I am getting ranty.

Correct, there is no competition for the expansions whatsoever. Since none of the really interesting mods are even near release, from what I can tell, it's kinda pointless to argue that BF2 mods > BF2 expansions. There are no mods to play at the moment.

Which is why people (including myself) might actually buy these things.

For Gods sake give us a new gamemode already. They keep adding more and more of the same conquest mode which gets boring after a while. Maybe I'll download armored fury but only because I really miss armor vs armor in BF2.

I reckon the major mods like USI and PoE will be way better.

Exactly, until actual full conversion mods are released (like POE2 or USI) than there is no true competetion. Yeah the mods are going to be spectactular, or atleast most of us hope, but until they start being released, the boosters will atleast add some to the game. I mean seriously, $10USD is not that much, you can't even fill a tank of gas off of that.

I'd buy it just for the great wall of china map. It has to be ****ing awesome. if your to cheap to dish out 10 bucks for a new army and 3 new maps then just go hang yourself.

                                umm...ill buy it.
                                10$ is nothing.
if it is too expensive, then dont buy it!

go play your CSS or AA or whatever.
I am glad that there is a Battlefield to enjoy, and support for it (unlike CoD)
I am sure there are developers and programmers that have to feed their kids.

but, THEY HAVE TO PUT THE LITTLE BIRD IN ONE OF THESE BOOSTER PACKS..I hope it will be in the Battlefield Armor Fury Booster...
