    Re: January Newsletter

All the booster packs will do is split the servers and comminity more. The "booster packs" are build like a expantion pack just less content. It would do them a lot of good if they would make all their new content build right into regular BF2. They are killing the community when they devide it up more and more like this.

I reckon the major mods like USI and PoE will be way better.
I totally agree - these mods will give us a lot more than EA ever will and it's free. When they are released no one will be playing these booster packs anymore.

You guys go ahead and buy it - in the long run though I have a feeling that a lot of people will be disapointed in EA even more.

You fellas dont see whats happening. Think about it. They are going to produce 3 new maps. What are the requirements for the booster packs. Do you have to have SF and Vanilla BF2 or just Vanilla BF2? I ask this because if you just need Vanilla BF2 and not SF then this will split the BF2 Community right down the middle. Why? Because people who cannot get the booster packs will not be able to play on servers that will host the maps. Can anyone find this out for us because it doesnt make sense them selling booster packs just for BF2 Vanilla. Also their so called support for free mods is very lame. They are talking ideas from free mods to make money off of them. Sorry EA I will not be buying this so call packs....

              Re: January Newsletter

I'm pretty sure you are just going to need BF2 Vanilla. SF won't be needed. Like I said these are just going to be "mini" expansion packs that split the community and die out as soon as the mod are released. Even if it was convinient for me to buy these off the internet I still don't think I would.

Some may disagree but I believe Sf has lost major popularity due to a lack of support for various reasons, blah blah. If thats what's happened to a expansion pack, these booster packs will die out too quicky unless they find a way to encorporate both maps with vanilla. Either way, I'd play Vanilla.

im with those who think this will fragment the community. its not good value or well thought out. everythin we have had should have been in it already or free. armoured fury giving us tank battles eh? sorry but research would have told them that that should have been the core for BF2 not the fisher price CSS style it was. dont get me wrong. DCs infantry was lacking but full armys fighting was what we want.
and its not about affording it. it the principle. those who say "lts only x amount" or "i know its crap but ill still buy it" are the ones they are targeting cause they know u will pay regardless.
lts battlefield. not the sims people.

I wonder if a player can go from mod to mod and retain his/her rank/score. Is this only for certain mods or is it open to all?

Stealing ideas? Come on guys...Just because DC did it back in the day doesn't mean that EA can't put an F16 or a Harrier in the game. The reason they chose to put it in is the same reason the DC guys put it in...it makes sense. Maybe the guns aren't realistic for the time period...but I don't really care about that kind of thing. I will be buying it.

One problem I have is the term 'booster' pack. These are just mini-expansion packs with a different name. I don't mind paying 10 bucks for new content as patches are supposed to "patch" problems. I know that new content has, in the past, been included in patches, but again, that's not their complete purpose. EA makes you buy stuff like any other company. For example, garages. "You need your oil changed AND tires rotated or you'll probably die in a week" You guys seem to think EA is an exception, but they are right there with other companies. Not the best, but not the worst by far.

The first thing what you, I don't know.
But it's on the MOd maker to input it to mod

I know that one 1942 patch came with the canadian army, but that only 2 maps were on it, but that doesn't matter. I said that delivering new content is not defined by the word "patch." It happens, but you can't expect it all the time. 1942 actually did have a couple of new content patches (1.5 and 1.6 and etc) which is cool and I do wish they could do that more, but I can't get mad that I have to pay for my stuff. It's like getting mad that you have to buy your music when you've been downloading it for free the whole time.

I bet you're hungry for money too. If I find a bunch of gold, i'm going to sell it, not give it away.
