I liked Road to Rome, too bad no one played it. But ya, stop complaining. $9.99 for some new maps, vehicles, and weapons? I'm there. I just hope they release some physical copies of the game, because I know a lot of people had serious trouble downloading/installing special forces.

        yeap they're milking us.

i wonder just how much they would charge us if we paid them just to fix the bugs.

Hmm, I think I'll stick to FREE modifications that change alot more than these things.

Most games don't give any new content through patches U moron. Patches are to "patch up" the game, not give u what an expansion/booster pack does. Hench the name difference. We're lucky they decided to put Wake island in with the one patch.

It costs money to create extra content, of course there's gonna be a price take u greedy bastard

Yeah, I do the same. I only installed it tried it and got the unlocks and went back to Karkand because a lot of the maps have frame rate issues so I'm just waiting for the patch to fix this (at least I hope they do). The only SF map I like is Devil's Perch and Ghost Town. Warlord would be a good map if only the Palace wouldn't lag like hell. I'm still skeptical about the booster packs, but the best thing to do is wait till it comes out then check the forums about how buggy it is  Knowing EA's and Dice's record with all the new BF's its a sure thing that there will be lots of bugs.

Well BF:V they gave out the World War II mod for free with the patch, they coulda charged for it since it had new content ie. Flame thrower. They could and probably should give a booster pack for free for the shotty job they did with SF, like they did for Vietnam after all those months of game balance and game issues.
But like I said I rather wait till it comes out then read forums about how buggy it is then wait for that patch then buy it.

Re: Two BF2 'Booster Packs' Announced

If these are anything like SF, the patches for the original game will be up to 1 gig by the 2nd "booster pack". And that's a good point to make how they released that HUGE ww2 mod for BFV. For all those that just jumped into BF2 and wonder why people keep saying they expect more from the patches. It's too bad they are concentrating more on these booster packs and not patches that need to fix the bigger issues of the current game. Can't blame them for milking it but I don't think it will be for too much longer and they see that. Heck, they might as well charge us $10 a month at the rate they are going. Similar to WoW. You pay a monthly fee so they can keep adding stuff to the game. Once the mods get released for BF2, I think that people will start to see how much more fun those are when you have new custom weapons in these mods instead of having to unlock stuff, and a group that actually listens to what people want. But then again, there are a lot of people who jumped into BF2 and never played any of the other BF games before. Many of the players know nothing about the modding community, so they will stick with whatever EA dishes out. :shakehead

if dice/ea had half a brain and wanted to make some real money they would release bf42 w/ rtr & sw and bfv as addons for bf2 engine. they should also release bf2:dc, bf2:fh, bf2:dice city and bf2:xwwii as addons

Im only getting it if they give you booster unlockables in BF2 vanilla. Otherwise screw that. Its just gona cause more problems and errors I think

They should release ANYTHING thats a freebie to gain a shred of respect from the community!!!

I mean the fact that special forces was rushed and contained content from what was going to be vannila battlefield is just sloppy.

cant wait for the first batch of mods to come out, untill then i might go back to HL2, which valve has done a phenominal job on in terms of community involvement.

They should just move BF2 to a new engine and charge another $29 instead. It's the BF2 engine that has all these bugs. They should license crytek 2 engine and just worry about contents and features. Like UT2007(whatevertheycallit) they just update the engine and charge full price

I have HL2,UT & Doom3, all have almost flawless graphic engines but I still play the buggier BF2 more. I'd rather see them milk BF2 than HL,Doom3 or UT. BF2 has them beat in the gameplay department.
