I am just glad that mods are being made for BF2 and look forward to playing an assortment of them no matter what they look like. I guess I don't rag on ppl who have these skills as I possess none :-)

Why not come up with new and original buildings? To me it seems like you guys aren't very imaginitive when it comes to structures if you have to copy stuff from BF42 even if you add a few new parts to make it look different. If you want your mod to stand out and be unique come up with an original style.

The statics shown are similar to, but not exactly like the "Africa Houses" from BF1942. None of them are exact duplicates of anything in BF1942 or Desert Combat. We do need statics that feel pretty similar to those, though... and here is why.

We are re-creating maps that thousands of players loved, and were played many times in Desert Combat. If we are doing that, it is important that the statics we make for THOSE maps be at least somewhat similar to the ones that were in that mod - in those maps. The "Africa Houses" are crucial to getting the feel of those classic maps. If you disagree, you in a minority.

We ARE making original statics for our custom maps that are completely original concepts. And yes, we ARE making maps that are completely original concepts. Some of our maps are maps that people want to have brought back from the old mod, some are not.

If you're going to criticize a mod, at least have some reason to do so, and think about what you're saying before you say it. If the buildings we created for Gazala and El Alamein were not anything like the originals, do you have ANY idea how many complaints we would get that they are not like the old ones and it ruins the "feel" of the map??? Here is the answer for you... MANY COMPLAINTS.

We ARE creating original content, and quite a bit of it. We are also creating content that is very similar to content from Desert Combat. Why? Because people want it. Because people are unhappy with BF2, and loved Desert Combat. Because Trauma was bought out by Electronic Arts and if we want to experience Desert Combat on this game engine, someone has to create it. Trauma cannot because Trauma no longer exists. The people that get all worked up about the stuff we are creating that is not original obviously do NOT understand why were are taking up this project. We're not getting paid for this, and we are putting a LOT of time into making this happen. If you want me to explain in further detail why we are, I will gladly do so for you.


Oh yea, and I love how you will never make a positive comment on Desert Conflict no matter what is shown, =::StOn3dWoLf::=... just because you don't approve of us making a mod that already existed for BF1942. It's really humorous that some people are so against this mod's creation, even though they (probably) loved Desert Combat and (probably) wish Trauma could create it in this game engine. They can't, so we are. If they could, we would let them do it. This is not easy to do.

Almost sure? Its a complete ripoff, worst thing is that they didn't admit it in the first place. And that factory is in many other 42 maps other than El Ala.

Oh, and the BF42 skins look nicer IMO.

I have removed Munchies post with the owned images, but nothing more, te resemblance IS atonishing as DMC pointed out, they do look a little bit too similar however I will not do anything more, you guys can convince the community of your originality on your own.
