yes, but if you think about it, it is very easy to go up in the ranks up to staff sargeant.
once you get to that the points needed to the next rank are from 8000 to 25000. this means that if you start a new profile everything will make sence. but for all of us that are already high in the ranks the system is just trying to convert our points into our appropriate rank according to the patch. everything is going to be ok once things start to settle down.

because of the point scheme we should have both enlisted and officer ranks all the way to 4 star general. maybe even warrent officer classes.

on the other hand there are alot of things wrong with this patch that i will not get into since every one else will cover them fully, i am sure.

if you pay attention to when patches are implimented you will notice that every once and a while there is a hotfix directly or close to release of the patch. this hotfix usually fixes issues brought into the game by the patch.

we (hopefully) should be getting one with in about a week or so maybe longer...

DAMNIT! Again with the "Patching Failed" problem!! anyone have a solution to this problem?? I cant believe that EA couldn't fix the patching failed problems from the earlier patch!

have you tried getting it from another mirror? there are already people putting out fake patches in the internet. so becarful who your source is.

man, i was thinking the same thing when i saw the ranks and how close i was to my next promotion.. Whats up with that?? that was my motivation going into every match.. its gotta suck to be the guys on top right now..

Umm are you smoking crack? ive heard more then one person say this and it infuriates me............. THE MISSLES ARE 10x better then they were before.

Im an experienced pilot both Jets and Helicopters....... and im constantly getting shot down now cause the PHUCKING FLARES dont even work now the missles are soo accurate. They home in on you like littlebastard Darts.

If you seriously think the AA is worse then they were then you arent playing the same patch i have...... either that or you just shoot the missle without letting it LOCK-ON first. If you just shoot the Stinger missles without locking on first the of course they are gonna just fly around in the sky..... BUT once they are locked on they DONT PHUCKING MISS EVER........ which is just really annoying now.

tbh this is my biggest gripe over the new patch...... it makes a pilots job 10x harder cause any noob can jump on an AA site and bring you down, not to mention having to dodge other choppers, jets, Rpgs, Linebackers, and Buggy fire. Its just ridiculous they didnt need to make the AA so powerful that flying jets and choppers now is like a flying deathtrap...

I stick to my story. I'm no moron, I wait for the lock-on, and about 9/10 times I miss. It was never like that in 1.02.

I had the same. Just type in something then backspack over it.

EA need to fix this in the next patch.

I think I am one of the few that like the changes. Except for the sound of the APC guns (sounds like a cheap drum)and the lawnmower MEC and China light jeeps.

Anyone notice that acceleration for the M1A1 Tank is like the T90 was and the T90 does not eccelerate like it used to. It is like they swapped these values.

to all those whiners over AA is too strong now that you cant whore up on the airplane and heli points its about time. I dont know of too many stingers in my lifetime that have missed a aircraft they are just deadly. I have shot helis many times and airplanes many times only to have to hit the aircraft 6 times before they blow up. Its about time that aa get its just do instead of shooting a aircraft only to have them turn around and get the nice easy kill on you with out fear of dieing themselves. Heat sinkers dont loose lock i hate to tell ya if you drop flares then fine but you dont loose lock ever thats why you have flares. Hopefully this will make the game what it should be Urban warfare and more troops on the ground.

I installed the patch and now when I tried to join a server it says CD KEY NOT VALID.....wth?
anyone else have this problem now?

never mind, i fixed it! it was the same problem as the last patches and it had the same solution...just start the installation and select language, and copy the temp-files created in C:\Documents and Settings\(username)\Local Settings\Temp\{6FB7DD87-BA19-47D2-BFF9-3C64322C6D3B}\{F317E784-F31C-4F26-A610-2D7BD89FEC5F} (or something like that) and copy them into you bf2 dir. then run patch.exe

i got a "not valid cd-key"-error the first time after installing the patch, and this might be fixed by running the "BF2CDKeyCheck.exe" included in the temp-files.

Well, i played few game after patch ... all went ok .... but

after 3 hours, i went back home to play some games more, but now, after log in,when i try to enter to servers it says CD KEY NOT VALID !!

no way to have an answer from EA ...
i got ORIGINAL cd !

I have conducted research on that glitch and already informed Melissa Hadley from the EA QA department on how to do it and fix it.
