this map is a straight "port" of a desert combat map (with some small "improvements"), but since these guys have no right to use the map i don't think they should have done it. it also seems to be the only map they want to talk about.
id like to pick you up on a few things..

    1. which beta tester would this be?
    2. this map is not a port of a Dersert combat map its is a completely new map . nothing from the original has been included. It is based on the battle of 73 Easings.
    3. if you check the forums you will see that this is the only preview of a map that has been released so of course people are talking about it

Its not a direct port but its nearly identical to DC's "Battle of 73 Eastings".

Isn't the Desert Conflict team composed of some of those who made DCF?

hehehe wow we have some stong uniformed people

to agree with some previous posts...

no it is definitely not trauma studios doing this (original DC developers)

and it is certainly not a "completely new" map -
i played enough DC to know thats meant to be Eastings...

im still on the fence with this mod... models are good to bad and time period is a little too close to BF2 for me... if anything im waiting to evaluate the new game modes they are talking about - SOMETHING I THINK COULD MAKE A DRASTIC DIFFERENCE TO BF2... with new maps of course lol

                Re: Desert Conflict Mod Update

Just curious. Why is it so special to have a DC "tester" on the team? Did he actually contribute proven skills (to the original DC), i.e. models/2d work/animation/mapping other than running around a beta map looking for bugs? If not, that's like saying i have Dice's coffee boy on the team.

Anyways, im looking forward to the video. [getstodownloading]

i did say in my post it is based on the battle of 73 eastings

"completely new" i was reffering to the fact its not a ported map

In your post it sounds like you actually mean "the battle" as in real life if it exists.

Well duh its a "completly new" map if your being that litteral, but its practically identical to the DC map.

I believe they mean some of the beta testers are now modders for DC. That's a guess.

Afaik some of the former devs of DC/DCF (eg: AJ) are working on this plus some of the testers/fans.
Please do not slate their work if you are unable to do better yourself.
This is meant to be a news area, not flame pit.

I am not USI I'm a dev not a team which USI is and if to professionalism we go misinforming the public is not a good way fo showing it...

However I hate BF2 tank combat....slow projectiles....tanks need some sort of zoom.....granades shouldn't damage them....etc. When you ssee a tank you should bee like "Holy sh*t!!!" thats is....if you even see it before your dead.

In Vanilla BF2 due to the fog and plus the draw distance on vehcles SUCKS which results in tank fights beeing 10 meters away from eachother....
i agree totally. i want it so taht tanks, while not super plentiful, are a major force, a huge event in itself upon arrival, where the whole force's main objective is to take that mother out. and AT rockets should spawn back at the main, so they wont already be out and ready to gangbang the tank at first sight
