i believe in the next patch when people have reached higher ranks and points and bring in new players, EA will lower the requirements and or change them to get the higher end badges and medals. they have probably set this 7000 global hrs (~292 days pure gameplay) so its impossible for people to get the medal before the expansion, but give you the illusion that you know they exist, so you somewhat aim for them.

and when it says a commander score of 50 in one round and 30 mins as a commander in one round can you do just one of these to get the ribbon or do you have to do both?

Medals will be out of reach expect for the most hardcore, which I guess is the point.

I hate being the bearer of bad news but even the most hardcore gamers will likely never see all the medals and badges before the next BF game comes out.

The Navy Cross, The Golden Scimitar, and The People's Medallion each require 4500 hours in the respective army to receive so in total you need 13500 hours to get them all. If you were to play every day for 4 years you would have to play 9.25 hours a day without a day off.

This info is either bogus, or the devellopers at DICE responsible for creating these requirements are complete morons. I've heard in other forums people saying oh it's good you shouldn't be able to pick up the game and get all the medals and badges in a month. Well I agree you shouldn't. But 13500 hours is absolute lunacy. I know WoW addicts who will never put that much time into the game, and at least they get equipment that benefits them in the game. So in 4 years there is likely going to be a new BF game and if not there will be a game similar thatis newer and better so the likelihood of anyone ever getting all the rewards before the game's lifecycle is done is implausible.

Drop a 0 of the end of most of the medal and badge times and thats more fitting. Even the 1350 hours is a lot of time to put into a game even for hardcores, but at least its attainable, and for those saying well not everyone should be able to get them well dont worry the average gamer and casual gamer will never put that much time in.

Nice math skills. But no matter how much of a nerd someone may or may not be. 30 days in a month 24 hours in a day = 720 hours. So no they won't get it in a month. You would have to play non stop for 562 days to have enough hours. 562 days 24 hours a day, no sleep no eating, no breaks. But then factor in the load times between map switches, bathroom breaks, eationg, and sleeping, which even uber nerds do and it will be a lot more.

Only 1 of those medals will take 187 solid 24 hour days, so no not even one medal will be attainable by the uber geeks for about a year. If you were to play 12 hours a day every single day you will have only logged 4380 global hours. But the army specific medals take 4500 global hours. So gg DICE you've created a rewards system that is absolutely ridiculous.

And all you so called hard core gamers that think the reward system is great as is have to think about it, the average life span of a game is 3-4 years, but in that time your play time will slowly taper off as new and better games come out. Mods that trump the original game, expansions such as the one already announced which will have different kits and likely different rewards, Clan matching on non ranked servers and a host of other all too real reasons to not continue to play 10 hours a day every single day for 4 solid years. Your not going to get these rewards either.
