Alan Wake is Officially Dead For Good on the PC Front

R.I.P. Alan Wake on the PC, we hardly knew ye. Oh no wait, we knew you for over four years from the moment you were originally slated as a PC title to the moment development jumped the shark. A Microsoft spokesperson told Strategy Informer that there is absolutely no chance of there ever being a PC version of Alan Wake.

"Some games are more suited for the intimacy of the PC, and others are best played from the couch in front of a larger TV screen. We ultimately realised that the most compelling way to experience "Alan Wake" was on the Xbox 360 platform, so we focused on making it an Xbox 360 exclusive. Both Microsoft and Remedy have long histories in PC game development. This decision was about matching this specific game to the right platform."

Consider this the final nail in Alan Wake ever appearing on the PC. Before, there was still some hope and speculation that the Xbox 360 "exclusive" would merely be a timed exclusive. Now? That's it, it is no more.

Oh hai, lets do no more games on PC, kthxbay.
Seriously, whats going on, are Sony/Microsoft paying so much for doing this?
The PC is AND WILL BE the best plattform, since it always gets upgraded and uses newer Technologies...
I will never become a Console player, I play sometimes at friends place, but for games that arent Little Big Planet (And mainly Shooters) the Controller steering sucks.
Turning around takes twice the time as on pc, i cant target enemys at high range since my crosshair slips over them all the way.
NO WAY, PC is unbeatable by such shit.

So um, from PC exclusive to completely rejected? Wow... Vista with DirectX10 failed that bad to the point that Microsoft is forcing it to be console-only huh? Hmm... Death Rally, Max Payne, Max Payne 2... I guess if Remedy Entertainment were allowed to make a PC version, they'd end up pulling an Infinity Ward and make it a port pissing everybody off anyways (no, adding Steamworks, mouse aiming, and resolution customisation does not make a port into a genuine PC game). No point wasting their time and money I guess. I do like the vague explanation the spokesperson gave though. Intimacy of PC and a couch/larger TV screen analogy used to calm the community down? Brilliant. Must've come from years of experience in helping the gaming community stay calm, patient, collected, and understanding.

I still believe a PC port will happen. The reason the spokesperson provided was kind of lame.

So dumb. You can sit closer to a monitor anyway. What's the difference?
