Modern Warfare 2 Outselling Modern Warfare on the PC

In terms of launch sales, Modern Warfare 2 is already outpacing the sales of the first Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Robert Bowling, by way of a posting on the official Infinity Ward forums mentioned how the sales figures of MW2 have made it the "most successful" Call of Duty release yet.
Yes, PC is the smallest percentage in terms of how much sold on each platform but that hardly means anything other than the PC is just the smallest market.

The PC version of Modern Warfare 2 has actually outsold the PC version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare in it's first week. Making it the most successful PC version.

Essentially, all this percentage proves is that the console versions sold great, not that the PC version sold poorly, because that's actually not the case. The PC version has done tremendous in it's first week, better than our previous game.

Proof that petitions, boycotts, and complaints are all moot points?

Re: Modern Warfare 2 Outselling Modern Warfare on the PC

I'm more curious about sales in the fourth week. Perhaps the PC community needed time to dive into the game and then form their final opinions past the first impressions. I'm not sure comparing to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was a good idea in terms of the first week, since it's a new idea for the Call of Duty franchise. I mean yeah, Infinity Ward is at the helm and not Treyarch Studios, so that means gameplay will actually go somewhere and the iconic Price will be reincarnated in there somewhere, but I don't think the world was peeing their pants waiting for Modern Warfare 1 to come out based solely on first impressions... I'd like to know if the vice-versa effect will happen or not. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare going from new entry to established success, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 going from established success to trickling sales (PC only)... Or I'm full of crap and the sequel also becomes a smash success for both short-term and long-term. And I'm also curious how it will fare against Battlefield: Bad Company 2 in terms of sales for the fourth week only (again, for the PC). I am also confused in terms of what similarities Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has compared to Battlefield: Bad Company 2. I don't know why loyalty falls on one or the other.
