You must not be playing CSS much lately, I suppose.

The hitbox issues are quite obvious. The other day I killed a guy by awp, when his model wasn't even in view. The hitboxes are like 2 feet behind the actual model.

And no, it isn't lag. 100tick servers located close to me have the same freakin' problems. ~80 latency, 0 choke, 0 loss.
That's not a hitbox issue, that's called interping. So basically you're telling them to fix something that isn't a problem. First of all, with 80 ping you will probably always be able to shoot a little behind them and get a hit due to the lag, but with your interp you'll have to shoot much closer to them.

If you want a hitbox issue, in cs 1.6 when a person is planting their head hitbox goes inside of their body and it has been known as one of the last hitbox bugs since at least 1.4. Now an issue more inline with latency and how netcode is handled (this is even a problem on lan) is that crouch tapping around corners causes your head hitbox to no longer be where it should be and for the person to move exceedingly fast. It's legal in leagues though.

Either way, despite this being a cs site, I don't think these issues really need to be brought up everytime DoD:S gets an update in the comments.

      WOW ! JUST WOW !

Way to re-invent and revolutionise a tired old game. If anything, these chunky cartoony looking characters have brought the game back to its roots, but at the same time, moved it on so much !

It was all about fun, everyone had a blast playing TFC, you were smiling, laughing, it was helluva fun experience.

A bold and cunning strategy from Valve. *applauds*

As for you diehard TFC clan players, now that I have seen the way this game looks, there is still fortressforever or even model swapping to choose from, don't be so downhearted. Just because the models have changed, it doesn't mean that the core elements such as weapons, tactics and skills have also changed.

Although all this news is good! wheres the CS:S updates?, there is still glitches and hitboxes problems in CS:S they got fixed in DOD:S so it cant be that hard to fix them. If the hitboxes got sorted in source i wouldnt mind so much about these updates...

But when there are still games with simple bugs and valve are talking about TF2 coming out and HL2 ep2, it makes me wonder when all the little bugs are gonna be sorted out, not in just CS:S but other games too as we have been told the team isnt that big.

So how long could we now be waiting?

I am not flaming valve as they do do a good job but you dont start a job and not finish do ya...

Anyways good news shame about the lack of CS:S news updates.
The CSS updates will come when they're ready from Valve. You know they're working on new content for the game and probably some bug fixes due to the news update some weeks back. Really can't post any news if there's no news to post for CSS. There are the community and eSports updates for CSS and that's really all there is ATM.

No... I don't have the video already. Let's just call it a hunch. =)

Nope. I have cl_interpolate set to 1. I'm not retarded, I've done as much tweaking to my config as I possibly can with my connection. A lot of research.

80 ping is usually on a good day, too....And apparently, I'm not along with the same issues I have.

Freaking Yay! Finally, first time in a million years it seems we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel for TF2. I dont think the graphics for the line up shot will be the graphics for the game. I think that might be box-art or something.

The sniper is a redneck? lollerpie..

This is fine, I loved TFC and I'll still play this. Just gotta wait for custom models is all.

I don't care about cs:s updates, but I still read the news about it and they were sitting on the new models for months last time. They aren't releasing things when they are done, they are releasing it when they need to promote the game for some reason.

How do you know those models were done? There are a number of things they more than likely still had to do before they were released to the public.

How do you know those models were done? There are a number of things they more than likely still had to do before they were released to the public. Wasn't that also when they introduced a few new animations for the models as well? I believe so.
Don't tell me that bugfixing a model, and even redoing every single animation takes 7 months (we've seen almost the same SAS model in last august, it was released some time around spring this year). That can't be true. Also, where are some HDR-updated maps? That's not too hard to make either.

From what I see there is no continuous support for this game, they just randomly make one bigger thing (a map or a model), do some bugfixes over a few days, then release is, and repeat this couple of times a year (or not). I think this is fine, since a retail product should be considered as finished on some level, but some people are still used to the way CS evolved in 4+ years when it was in development, and they demand more from valve.

Then shoot them a few emails telling them to "step it up on the CSS front" and forget about other projects such as unfinished games that are set to be released at the end of the year...

I don't like the idea of steam and how it killed versions of cs. It means they don't really fix shit since they're now basically done, and they do changes like what they did to the recoil a little over a year ago and it's all the same version. It also makes it harder to watch demos, old 1.6 demos run weird as fuck. FleK0 is right for once. The release of steam ended versions of games and so valve just squirts out tiny little updates nowhere near as big as the jumping from 1.1->1.3->1.4. Each update was huge. The updates for DoD:S have been outstanding though.

thats all pretty true, I gotta hand it to ya...

I've always hated Steam and Valve for making steam. Why I still use it, serch me cause I have no clue. Hell, lets add on that Valve has killed the modding community for some mods because of server consistancy.

Are you adding CS:S to the unfinished games?

Btw i have already sent valve an e-mail and got no response.. 3 times...

CS 1 had hitboxes problems and valve fixed them i remember them doing it.., The problems are not do to with latency and all that stuff because if it really was to do with that we would be getting it when we play other games online too....

There are issues in CS:S and they really need to be resolved as i said before i would much rather have the hitboxes fixed in CS:S then some new maps, atleast the game will play like 1.6 which it is supposed to be an updated version just on the source engine...

These issues have been around since the first beta!

Come on Valve sort it out.

                            Btw nice news...

But how about fixing older games before you start releasing new ones...

I'd like to re-iterate my "Valve fails again" statement.

Because amusing myself at the cost of the integrity of others is always fun.

Seriously, I've waited how many years for this shit? It reminds me of what Nintendo did to bloody Windwaker.

                              *shakes fist*

I wonder if releasing half-complete games and then moving on to other projects is going to become a continuing trend with Valve.

                                ...

I guess that would have been more funny if I said it like two years ago, when it was only a possibility, and not reality.
