Great release, guerilla looks awsome (mexican too!) and the GIGN, let's just say I'd hit it.

What's so great about CS is even if you don't get the first shot off, you still have a chance. I think slowing down someone while being shot is good enough.
The reason I play CS for fun and not seriously is because of these weapon mechanics. Inhearant inaccuracy in the weapons meaning that you can get lucky and get away form a previously unwinnable situation. If I wanted a serious game, Id play CPMA or something.

That said, the new models are a nice touch, though I sorta liked the older Terrorist models better than the modified replacement, but you can't please them all...

Depends on what level you play CS I guess.. If you play at top CPL level or something, against people that know how and where to aim very well, then luck won't bring you anything.. You're dead before you can get lucky at that level..

quick switchin awp still works but they mean that the quick shots like the noscope quick scope ones wont have the same accuracy and its true no more desperado shootin with the awp.

The weapons on the back thing is by far the most interesting addition here. As always, glad to see content when it comes, and it's definitely good to have some additional player models after months of being strung along. :)

I'll assume this means any possible future player model replacements, should they be possible, will have to feature new attachment points?

The best thing is the way you're terrorist looks when you have a para strapped to your back, the elites in the holster, all the grenades, the bomb, and your knife out.

                  Not if you're american

Another interesting thing was the pistols in the holsters, the mechanic has been in the other models for a while but I've never seen it in game until now.

Do we have to wait a WHOLE YEAR for another player models update??

                    Just joking!

PLEASE do not include that ARCTIC dude! he's too overdressed!

I'll go for the LEET dude from CS 1.6. Maybe that Dude with the turban over his head! But NOT Like the one from CONDITION ZERO with the sunnglasses. More like that other one from Deleted Scenes!!

Please smaller heads pleaaaseee. I've been waiting for this update for so much time, and just in a hope that they will make the heads smaller. Silly me! Gameplay will always go on like that. It will continue surprising me when someone kills another without a hs...

Depending on where you play, the players may be good enough that they're actually aiming for the HS most of the time. I know, I know, it's a hard concept to grasp, but perhaps people shooting for a region that does roughly 4x the damage isn't due to the head being "too large."

Seriously, when you look at the hitboxes... they're not even remotely too big for the size of a normal human head.

Anyway, the weapons on back thing looks cool. Sure, I was initially imagining the guns being slung over the back with straps and flopping around with havok physics as the players ran... but this works too, and you don't have nearly so many worries about the specific design of your weapon models this way. Kudos to VALVe for a neat new addition.

5 minutes of extra coding time for sticking the weapons on the back and Valve manages to placate the community after their whole overhyped bullshit release date fiasco. (Where's Militia!?!)

Yeah, like you know exactly how long it would take to code that.

                            You're always naysaying. :P

Well i don't think people (including me) got much better after cs:s. You should have noticed the increase in hs occurance. Even some articles got written about it, increased body size, 76% inreased head size. Anyway, i don't want them to bring me the old versions back, but dying and killing are so easy and not fun at all. Just count how many of the kills are hs on any server. It shouldn't be that easy...

do you even know how to code? all you have to do is add code to check if the primary weapon isn't out (simpe if()) then instruct it to place the primary's p_model on the guy's back. any experienced coder working for valve should be able to do that in 5 minutes if not less.

                                edit:

actually there's an easier way. just add code to put the thing on the guy's back whenever a non-primary weapon is selected.

there's no argument about this except from valve fanboys. the head's hitbox is CLEARLY larger than the 1.6 model's.
