Every time someone dislikes something about valves updates, you have to defend it why?
Its called an OPINION.... ppl think more of other ppl with opinions, not just lapdogs who agree with EVERYTHING certain ppl do.
Because few people give valve any credit for what they do for thier customers. Since when has EA or any other company update and add content to a non monthly game for years on end? Valve has no obligation to give us ANY content or fixes after we bought the game. Having an opinion is one thing, complaining when someone gives you something free out of thier benevolence is something else.
My gosh you guys, here you are sitting on your arses and complaining about how much it sucks, or how they should fire the modeller at VALVe, etc. A person put time and effort into that model, and you guys just crap all over it. Could any of you make a better model? Give em a break, they're trying.
Who knows, maybe once you try it or see it in game you might find that...I dunno, it's not so bad after all. You are only seeing it from one angle in one picture anyway.
Good work VALVe, thanks for the content. Not alot of game developers do that.

That reasoning is as old as the hills...
lol @ "when complaining when someone gives you something free out of thier benevolence is something else"
Its not out of the goodness of their hearts you know...
They update to keep/get people interested in BUYING their product.
That doesnt mean just because a company is updating their software that you have to LIKE it.
I just think ppl who use the quoted above excuse for crappy work is totally pathetic and they need to get their tongues outta valves arsehole.
Dont get me wrong, i like valve and cs:s, i just dont like EVERY update they bring out and think ppl who defend them rigourously are
complete morons who think valve may drop them an e-mail or invite them to thier offices sometime...and you know it.
I'm looking forward to cs_assault, and I really don't give a damn about the player models to be perfectly honest. I generally expect any truly good models to be made by the community, just like was the case with all previous versions of CS.

So, with that in mind, cool.
same, I am not overly bothered on how my player models looks.
lol come on now, this looks like itd from a cartoon. I never complained about the current model and they should keep it the way it is. The current one is a perfectly good phoenix connection terrorist. This one has a huge head, terrible mask, and its back to the old 1.6 posture. (holding guns waist level.) When i first played source the one thing i liked a lot was that the models held the weapons shoulder height. It actually looked like they were aiming. This is just terrible, i mean ive seen so many better custom skins than this, and this is done by professionals.
I hope you know, the current "perfect" t model holds the ak already at the waist.
I think one screenshot is not quite enough for a judgement to be made.
More concerning is the phrase 'upcoming months'. It really makes me feel that this should still be an amateur mod worked on by a floating team; as it is I'm pretty positive that since the gold code's been signed off on there's been little incentive to give anything else, which is entirely within their right I suppose, but I expected better.
Also, about companies that support their products after launch, Blizzard has a pretty good track record at maintaing both updates and free multiplayer play hosted on their own servers no less. I think they just released another Warcraft III map last month? I would consider Blizzard to be the exeption and not the rule though, head and shoulders above the rest. Red Storm entertainment does well, Rainbow Six: Raven Shield just got an free-ish expansion pack.
And Zips, it's possible we're never happy because *both* options are bad. It's not an either/or question. Thinking back to a time when CS was seperate from HL, there seemed to be a more consistent quality and motivation behind the updates. Now it's just scraps from the table. I almost feel like one of my (now previous) favorite games is being held hostage.
Oh yeah, where's Day of Defeat? (Man, if that costs money. . . forget it) And the avalanche of mods I was promised by the HL2 hype? Where's my 'The Specialists'? Does anybody really think they got their money's worth with the vaunted 'Gold package' ?
like ive said before, this is a site, which (for the most part), is browsed and used by people who are leechers, who have never developed anything for the community or put any work into anything for HL or CS.
all the somewhat intelligent people ignore this sie (most of the time), and can be found on the VERC, or one of the myriad of other MOD-developing sites out there.
so anything said on here is basically not worth the bandwidth used to post it :)
