One for the gallery-
if you do not like realism, or cant take the real combat, then go back to cs 1.5 or 1.6 and be a noob. cs:s is for people with real aim and tactics aka skill - not some speed hopping, wall spamming, illegal boosting punk. =)

Yes it's quite addictive as a terrorist just to play tunes when you spawn, but sooner or later some CT shoots you.
Try playing the bells in inferno, hey can actually make music
and you can shoot the fish.
I shot fish for a while and then worked out you can 'nade them all in one go. Gotta love dead floating fish.

I only pubbed for about an hour or so as a terrorist on inferno, but I demolished the CTs at that juncture every single round I went to the right. A single flashbang right at the top of the stairs blinds everyone in the other three directions, and it was just a mop-up after that. Even without a flashbang I was able to wipe out the enemies, but took more damage.
inferno-looks great, a lot of changes, the one thing I don't like about it is the new window for the ts, imo that was a mistake. What i want to know is why did they change it, it was one of the only maps which nobody complained about, it was almost perfect, dosen't valve know the cs community? They are bound to get flamed for the changes. I like them all apart from the one I stated. The apartment change is good but harder for the ts, I can just see cts camping that little room on the left of the stairs.
That said, I couldn't tell you for a second how it'd go in competitive play, but I'm sure it's a somewhat different story.VuLLrath wrote..
The shotguns are too powerful?
now all valve needs to do is make a flawless vac2 and take away the hackers and nerf the shotguns and auto sniper rifles to shoot slower... or nerf all sniper rifles by making the bullet fire like that of the iron crossbow in half life 2 death match.
this way you'd have to lead the target like a real friggin sniper... and use more skill and strategy instead of point and shoot and get a free kill.
Also, if you were going to create bullet lag on the sniper rifles, why shouldn't all guns shoot bullets slowly like that? While we're at it, why don't we add some tanks and call it Battlefield? At the ranges we generally shoot in CS, bullet delay would be a very minimal factor, and would only lead to more frustration with the game (and complaints of hitboxes being off) than people already have.

About the hitboxes the alfred guy cant use a demo code excuse since most of the demos out there showing fucked up hitboxes are recorded with fraps which is avi.

And it's still a difference between server ping, your ping, and the person's ping you're specing.

To say one kind of CS is better than the other is an opinion, not a fact. most of you forget that 1.6 is complete while source is just beggining, and with a different engine. of course there are going to be bugs. and whats bad about changes? all of you complaining about the changes shouldn't play source. if you dont care about the looks of the game, and you dont want changes why are you wasting your time with source, go play 1.6. and in my opinion source is in no way easier than 1.6, ive been playing source for most of the past 6 months, and i played 1.6 not that long ago, and i had a much easier time in that. neither is harder or better by fact, its all preference.
on a side note, why should shotties be nerfed, only a select few use them and you have to be good at it for it to be any good.

Actually in that video if you payed attention at the end there really couldve been no lag almost what so ever because the guy was running the server off his comp giving him a 0 ping immediateley and the server was running a bot which gives the bot a 0 ping.

i wont disagree with that but it's also because people hate source just because its new, it happens with everything, not just games. personally i like them both equally. source is going to attempt "realism" and 1.6 is more "arcadish". neither of the games will never be realistic in terms of real life. take the p90 for example, people hate it because they think the accuracy sucks, but in real life they are about as accurate as full auto gets. if you use it in source you'll notice its better. thats because its meant for full auto, which brings me to that spraying comment made above. the reason they get more headshots is because source made the spraying a BIT more realistic. in reality at long range spraying is useless for the most part when targeting something specific, but at close range full auto is extremely deadly. in CS you can point right at a person 15 feet away, spray, and not kill em. thats only because it is a game so they cant make it too realistic for balancing reasons. think about it, in life not the game, if your standing that far away and you shoot at someone full auto, theyre gonna get torn apart in an instant. ive gotten way offtopic but my point is 1.6 and source are different games, instead of saying one sucks just say you dont like it, theres a difference. like i said before its preference. and you guys should really give valve and steam a break, remember its FREE be grateful. once they start charging you then you can bitch.

Am I the only one having problems hitting people now? Before this update I played great, usually maintaining a 3:1 k:d ratio no matter what, despite my bullets not registering quite often (damage on the model shows up like bloody bullet holes, but according to the server no damage had been dealt).
Ever since this update whenever I shoot at people while they are moving (and I know the aim is dead on) the bullets just go right through the model. It's almost as if the hitboxes are a few feet infront of where the model is located when on the move. Just like in that video in the link posted above, except that's just what it feels like to me, as I haven't done tests and research into it. And this is happening after the update, as apposed to the video showing pre-update wonky hitboxes (which I didn't have problems with).
And I am sure it's not a lack of skill or aiming on my part, as like most of you here I have been playing for roughly 6 years now, and I have a pretty good feel for this game.
