Rumor has it that the update has went up from 80MB to 111MB, I'm guessing they made some last-minute changes to it and are probably going to wait until 11:59.



Either that or Gabe is eating his 18th bucket of KFC and is just sitting back laughing at everyone going into a coniption because they didn't release the update.

Updates like this never phased me when I was on a 56k not all that long ago... I still downloaded files that were several hundred megs on a regular basis. 80 megs? Pshhh, that's nothing.

Using this flag at this time will prevent legitimate users from being able to connect to your server (on the order of 20% of all users). Right now the beta test only involves testing our connectivity code, it does not exercise any cheat detection logic.

Yeah, I'm in that 20% it seems. Only tried 3x to get into a VAC server in CS:S. First time the server was full, second time I was kicked due to slot reservations, and the third time it said "kicked and banned" so at that point I said screw it and went to a normal unsecured server. I think I'll just stick with 1.6 for now, less hassle and I'm not stuck playing cs_compound for hours.

In context with that message I guess it could mean they're only fixing the hitbox code in relation to demos
