What these people have done is the exact same thing as 1000's of us have done by purchasing it through steam. both games are locked untill valve release it and steam buyers will never get a box as expected so whats the big fuss? and why are these people that went out to buy the game thinking they are so good? I got to play CSS weeks before they did so i win \o/

It doesn't matter if they bought it. They can't play it, as it needs to be activated by steam. Half-Life 2 will not be released earlier regardless of what Valve has said. Valve isn't going to change the release date when it's coming out in 2-3 days.

I called every EBgames within 50 miles around me yesterday morning when I heard the news. They all said they didn't have copies yet. I talked to a man working there who was going to play Half-Life 2. I thought after I got on his good side he would really tell me if there were any copies, but alas no copies.

Well when doom 3 was broken in the release date a guy at best buy in rockford got fired the next day he came in. So all the ppl that either have bought it or sold it to a person also GMS will be geting fired... Niles IL thought they would rack in the $$$ but its gona back fire on them as you can't even play the game..

It just means that he can stare at the cover, or read the manual until the 16th. And cracks will not work unless they crack the verification code, hack into the steam servers, or type in a random number many, many times until they get it right. Oh, I'm sorry, it's random numbers AND letters, therefore making it harder millionfold.

I screw if one person plays HL2 on steam, and illgal is playing it... I'm going to be sooo F'ing pissed Valve doesn't let the rest of us that pre-loaded and pre-paided an arm and leg for it, that we don't get to play. OMFG....

Steam is run by Valve. They would be the ones who would release it early via Steam, not VU. Also, it's not stated anywhere in that link above who would release early via Steam, so don't make the wrong assumption of it being VU.

1) Best Buy sucks ass, because their are indepent Best Buy's out in the world....
