From the SS I saw of HL:S it looks very bad, only the water looks new, the rest looks horrible with the ancient geometry and textures. I plan on getting the regular box when it comes out, since HL:S looks stupid. I will miss out on DoD:S though.. hard choices!
I was against the idea of buying something over Steam because I wanted a hard copy. Since I'm only buying HL2 for CS:S and it comes out next week, it only took me 2 days to break down and decide that I'll be buying it over steam(Silver or Gold). Two questions I have:
1. Will I be able to burn an install disc or something? Like, it would be much easier to go with digital delivery if you were allowed to make your own hard copy.
2. How do I redownload the game? I'm guessing anyone can download HL2 via steam after buying HL2 in stores just by giving the cd key rather than putting the cd in.
Hopefully HL:S doesn't suck. I want to beat Half Life before I play HL2 but the original Half Life is far too boring compared to the current generation of games to play all the way through. Hopefully HL:S will have the spice to make it worth it, but it seems they'd have to do alot of mapping to make HL:S. I hope they did it.
