Not been keeping up with the VU problems I'm guessing?
Theres a review for HL2, and STILL NO RELEASE DATE SET?!?!?!?! I know what Cliff is thinking to himself "Oh yeah, just when all those HL2 fans think the game is gonna be delayed for another month, BOOM! I'll come out saying the game is gonna be released in 3 days."
This isn't the 2nd coming of Christ, this is a fricken videogame!!! So why can't VALVe just set a release date allready!?Comment

No, dipshit, all he said was that HL:S had no MP.
I've only heard one person say that half-life 2 had no MP, and that was Waldo on steam forums here
And according to him, not even hl:s will have mp..
From what I read, I don't think hl:s will be that great at all, and hopefully not a waste of time.
You must be a Republican, because you sure can spin.Comment

"Buy CS:Source and get HL2 free"
Many a true word is said in jest.
Its made me lolz.

1. Doom 3 was great in its own respect. Sure, the game made no sense whatsoever, but it scared the hell out of people. Playing this at 2 AM with 7.1 THX-authenticated surround sound in the dark seriously made me piss myself. The people at ID were simply geniuses in their setup of the beginning stages (the second half of the game was quite boring and lost touch with the fear factor; just became another run-n-gun). I honestly think ID should've just made a bonus level that is a 1 hour walk back through the entire base and they tell you "there are only 10 monsters in this stage, but we're not going to give any hints as to where they are, and they kill you in two hits; no health packs, no ammo packs, no armor packs, just you and your shotgun." No other horror game has forced me to empty my pants as many times as Doom 3, and that can trump technical aspects any day of the week.
2. One review isn't going to set everything. Obviously, being the first magazine to review the game will have influenced their decision in some way, but the fact that HL2 was considered a 95%+ is a great thing to look forward to. We've all watched the videos, perused the interviews, read the tidbit updates, and spread or denounced the rumors, but none of that is going to change whether you enjoy this game as when you finally play it. Unavoidably, some people will find that this is everything they expected (and quite possibly much more), some people will be content, and some people will be disappointed, but you're not going to really give a shit about that once you experience it for yourself.
3. A lot of people need to realize this isn't just a videogame for the related companies. This software is freakin' money. Granted that VUG is going to look like a pack of rabid asshats to the impatient few, you really can't blame them for trying to strike a beneficial deal here.
4. If you have no idea what you're talking about: say whatever you want and then write at the bottom "I assumed so-and-so" or anything to notify that you don't have the entire story.
*I have no idea what's going down between Valve and VUG aside from that VU has an ambiguous right to withhold softwareComment

While we're on this doom3 binge...
I'll say that doom3 graphics DID look amazing and I enjoyed the game a lot. But, its true -- after I beat the game I simply haven't had a desire to play it anymore. The replay value is dissapointing. In short - I wish I hadn't spent the rather large amount of money to purchase it on opening day.
Sadly enough, I hear the same things about cs:source --- "good graphics... but same old game, nothing special." I hope that isn't true. As for HL2 - I KNOW it will rock.
PS: No, I haven't played cs:s betaComment

Well I'm afraid its true, the physics while initaly pleasing are only shallow and add nothing to the game, other than barrels and ragdoll bodies. The netcode problems still plague the game as in currently with cs and very little has changed. BUT if you like cs as it is, you should enjoy it. After all thats all cs:s was suppose to be. In other words dont expect anything ground breakingly new or original.

If you kept up with what people found in that leak you mentioned before you would know there were 1) references to tfc2 2) references to counter strike (aka counter strike source).
Theres a big fat 170mb video (I think its that big) on Gamespot where Gabe talks his ass off for ages and says what I posted.
Developer Interview 2 |
Valve's Gabe Newell reports in from an Alcatraz prison cell with the latest on Half-Life 2's development process, delayed release, and more. (10/01/03)
http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/halfl...q=half+life+2
Second one down in GameSpot Exclusive Movies - if you can view it ofcourse
And whether the leaker(s) actually did have everything valve had is still disputed.Comment
