I think you're confusing Doom 3's low-textured, low-lighting engine with Unreal Engine 3 that actually seems to raise the bar.
HL2 graphics is doing what upcoming graphic card engine looks like, but Doom 3 is pushing the graphic card engine to a new advance, this will make ATI and Nvidia to make new card and fans will go out and purchase it.Comment

Can we assume Gabe was lying about Half Life 2's multiplayer being revolutionary and something he plays daily?
Considering he made that comment in mid 2003, and Cliffe said they only started work on CSS around February 2004.
Which leads me to believe that there wasnt a multiplayer around the leak time meaning the game wasnt nowhere near ready - so Valve lied.Comment

Im not trying to be a dick - just trying to figure out if Valve perhaps had Hl2 deathmatch made and decided to get css to replace it?oReiLLZ wrote..

Please cite your source, I don't remember Gabe stating that the multiplayer in particular would be revolutionary.

Well according to my catholic education, demons inhabit flesh, which is susceptible to your 9mm, so once you've fragged that to pieces they have to return to the neverworld for a group hug with satan.
And another thing - at least you can reasonably "kill" aliens. Demons are what, some sort of animated flesh empowered by the souls of the damned, or something. You can kill that? With bullets?Comment
