lol screw all you re-re's thinkin' this looks ugly! I think they look AWESOME. Besides.. I'm rather glad that they didn't make it super realistic and stretched the limits of the engine's graphical capability. CS never looked good or even tried to until CZ came out, and, IMO, CZ wasn't as fun playing as CS 1.6 because of all the graphical improvements that ultimately became distraction to the core gameplay (slow FPS... looking away from the crosshair to see how each sexy lookin' gun model shoot even during sticky situations...). The CS:S now, from what I see, is more than what I wanted in terms of graphics. Now... ADD MORE "FUN" (i don't know... how about them suicide belts that were originally planned for CZ? eh??)Comment

E-mails to VALVe have confirmed that the games ported to Source are NOT free, including Counter-Strike: Source. The real question is, do we get a discount for one or more Source ported games after buying HL2?
for a free mod, the graphics are good enough. gameplay, however, does not seem to be drastically changed (hopefully). is that a good thing? yes.Comment

i assumed the source engine would be scalar.
Its all in principle, if you aren't going to be up close (as in your eye is right behind it, first person view) so it would be rather frivolous to draw a several thousand poly model when you won't see the detail.Comment

Cuz if u change it too much BOOM it's not CS anymore u silly bear...
that almost looks like a decent game. too bad it just looks exactly like cs with smoother people to shoot at. holy crap, why don't they make some vast improvements?
And it doesn't looks exactly like cs with smoother people to shoot at, it IS cs with smoother people to shoot at... and a few phisics improvements =)Comment
