It probably won't be completely free, but it might be released to all Half-Life 2 owners, for example.



The answer is that no one really knows how CS Source is going to be released (edit: unless the video says something), but I will go ahead and say right now that a graphical upgrade of CS should not be put into a separate retail package without any other means of getting it. I'm and idiot, and I know that; so I'm pretty sure the smart folks Valve know it.
