Just a couple of things from the voiceover:

-at least in the beginning, there won't be much new content gameplay wise

-Cliff states that they have been thinking about the possibilities the source engine offers, especially the map size (he talks about huge outdoor maps, e.g. jungle- or forestmaps and cities, that are actually cities and stretch out literally for miles)

(edit: I forgot that they mentioned source-only maps, which figures, i guess)

-They are exploring the possibilities of the physics engine regarding moveable objects (before and after the initial release)

-Some of the textures are being redone before the release

-and yes, the voiceover does state, that CS-Source will be free to all who buy HL2 (personally, I'm still not convinced, but it would be awesome)

The vid looks nice and I like the new run animations....always hated the way they ran and walked in CS. But they all look like they have hunchbacks and are lanky.

god damn, i'll pay for that... gud points about the lighting, maybe it's just a new dimension or atmosphere to the game, a new version maybe calls for new tactics, and with the muzzle flash being so big maybe it won't matter :S

but honestly, dya think it will take over the number 1 spot.. doubtful ... most people who play cs only have the spec they need.. i don't think they'd change over for a bit better gfx... and stuff.. altho saying that i would, but my machine will prolly handle it, well i hope so, i aint buying another frikkin radeon.. lol

want that game!! i like the idea of object's flying around in a large scale gun battle in the market place on italy.. would add that "shit duck that flying bowl" element it misses when ducking behind the table lol.. and the object's for cover would be useful too.. a nice touch... maybe they should just port the new hostage AI to CS first lol... that i wana see.. cuz i don't own cz (yet) and don't wana pay £19.99 for such a low spec game(which i've heard people say sucks but i don't know yet so don't flame me)... still... who knows...

CS:Source mite just be that bit better...

any idea on release dates that are more accurate than "Summer"

also the player legs did look a bit long.. :S but the walking, running and crouching looked gud.. the ragdoll on the dead ct looked pretty wkd.. also the gun bouncing .. nice touch....

hm with these new movable objects i can also see possibilities of the retarded CS community to annoy their teamates by blocking off key escape points etc.

To do you all favor i'll summarize the main content of the interview:

For Valve, Counter-Strike: Source is only a further step in the developement of the already existing Counter-Strike. Therefore it's not conformable to say that it is a sequel of the original CS. At the very beginning after the release of Half-Life 2 and so also CS: S, there won't be any mentionable gameplay changes but in the subsequent way the developers are planing to release more and more only-source-engine-features and of course maps especially for the Source Engine. Those maps will be like ten times greater compared to the older ones, just as great as you wish to. Colossal outback areas are no problem anymore! They've already tought for a long time about creating big jungle maps, expanded forests and city maps which extend about miles.. (sounds stunning!) it's simply boundless for the developers. Partly its possible to ineract with the map given inventory to (as you folks can see on italy) move for example a table in order to build a barrier. But they do at the moment still checkout in which amount new environment objects can be insert in the game. Things will feel rather like dynamic content than none-changeable-pics. The shown version of Counter-Strike: Source will get over-worked in some points of a better texture quality. And CS:S will be released this summer as a free add-on to the allknown Half-Life 2.
                                Thank you Abaddon!!!!

I like the optimistic "CS:S will be released this summer as a free add-on to the allknown Half-Life 2."
