You caught me. I guess I should just quit right now.
Aaaaanyway, we do go through an extensive editing process, with at least two people checking articles to make sure things like this don't happen. And yet, sometimes, things slip through. But it's good that you point out errors - it helps us be better, and that's what you want, isn't it?Comment

If I may be so bold, I think our best Counter-Point was adaptation, about whether CS is art.
Pretty good read, best CP ever (which really isn't saying a whole lot).
With that in mind, I do wonder why saying that this CP is the best CP ever "really isn't saying a whole lot." I guess I like to think that CP has always been above average.fonaul wrote..
Well, here's your big chance. Explain why we're wrong, why Valve is horrible. Open mic.
it feels like abit of a 'point'less venture having the point counter-point written by 2 pro-valve 'righters'. giving answers on behalf of valve to explain/excuse their actions only makes it worse.Comment

A very good read, I could really sense rizzuh venting the same frustration at reading the Steampowered.com forums that I've been experiencing lately.
My thoughts on Valve:
They're a great company, that has provided an incredible amount of support to the community over the past 5 years or so. I'd say Blizzard is their closest competition in that department, and Valve has them beat hands-down.
Where Valve needs to improve is their PR department. I think that they should have an employee whose sole purpose is to interact with the community on the Steampowered.com message boards. It would be nice to get a human face - Cliffe and Waldo do great work over there, but they have better things to do than reply to every single thread that comes up.
Unfortunately, thanks to the current state of affairs over there, this PR person would have to be incredibly thick-skinned. I think I'd last about a week before I resigned in disgust at the childnishness.
In conclusion:
Valve - needs more/better PR
The Community - needs a complete overhaulJaxon wrote..
Cliffe and Gooseman are both working at Valve. Cliffe posts regularly at Steampowered.com but Gooseman keeps an extremely low profile (i.e. I wouldn't know he works there, except Cliffe mentioned it once). Gooseman is currently hard at work on some sort of "secret project" (whatever could that be?).
Everyone is always talking about how Valve is making these changes.
Doesn't Cliffe work at Valve? I know gooseman dissappeared ages ago, but I'm sure one of the guys that created CS still has input and lately, has been interacting with the rest of us a bit more. Cliffe helped make the game, you obviously like it, why can't you trust his judgement when he wants to change the game?
If you don't like the game, what is the point to standing around and bitching? "I like CS, except for the all the changes they've made since B6." I'm sure there are other games you'd like then. ByeComment
