Who plays on pubs with cal.cfg?

Just because cal.cfg isn't execed doesn't make everyone feel below the average, and the same will apply to this "Pro Mode", I believe.
    I do.

Some people need to learn to read.

I'm shocked at the ignorance of the majority of the comments, even from the CSN staff.

He needs to play COD cause it isn't realistic. He needs to go play 1.3 or something.

The thing is that the pros don't even know what collective changes want to be made.

Some people are all for nerfing of the awp, others aren't. Some want more versatility and others don't. The pro community can agree on bugs, but when it comes to game mechanics, they are just as split as the rest of the community.

There is only a vocal minority that want ALL the changes that UKT proposes.

Wait so this is basically asking for 1.3 again. Stop asking for it idiots, it's not coming back.

Basically. I guess he sucks in 1.6 or something.

id just want to play in pro mode because it would be more fun :) faster gun switch, less random recoil? everyone would just play that version

a challenge from the talent of others or the random number generator of recoil?

I didn't bother to read the article because I am a strong advocator against anything that could possibly split the community, and my other comments reflect this.

But I just went back and looked it over, and aside from his ridiculous dream of spawning some demented love child of CS 1.3 and 1.6, I don't see why there is a need for a separate pro mode when most of these changes are beneficial to the entire community. The server config/scoring rules can be changed by individual leagues as it is now.

Narby also brought up an excellent point.

The idea of a pro-mode for CS is laughable.

A challenge from making this game GoldenGun mode from GoldenEye64.

What it comes down to is he wants to make the game less random. The way the game is now, people who have been playing for years at an extremely high skill level can be killed by someone who has been playing for 2 months just because of the random factor. That's bullshit.

I think pro-mode would be a good idea, but a better idea would be this:

Just make the guns more accurate.

I went to a 1v1 UT2k3 tournament and played against this kid, and I lost something like 25- -1. I consider myself a pretty damn good UT player, but this kid's skill level was just so much higher than mine because the game ALLOWS his skill level to be that much higher by making the guns be 100% accurate all the time.

What I want, ideally, is to see the skill gap much greater among the top players. I want to see the best of the best be truly able to dominate teams they are that much better than. I want 3D to be able to beat a middle of the road CAL-M team 24-0 EVERY match. I want the game to lower the randomness to a point where the team that has the best aim and the best tactics win EVERY time.

Every real sport is not random. The closest thing you have to randomness in any real sport is the wind, and that is something you can mitigate because it is first, not a huge factor in most sports, and second, if you play enough, you can learn how to handle the wind, because you can train yourself to kick or hit the ball a certain way. Everything else, every other random factor, are all human factors. That is to say, the team that plays the best on any given day is going to win. You can't have this in CS because there is no way to train yourself how to handle the recoil. It's aiming in the general direction of the target and hoping the random number generator says you have 1 bullet in the head hitbox and one in the arm and one in the leg, so the guy you are shooting at is dead.

Lower the randomness of the recoil to a point where if you have the best aim in the game, and you're aiming at the target, you're going to kill the target EVERY time. Make skill be the ultimate deciding factor, not a random number generator.

what excellent point was that? anything he said that was remotely intelligent was ansered

a lot of the ideas have been put forward by "pros" liek on that link to gamers.nu

they were against it because theyf eel it would split the community but they like most of you are blind to see it is already split

not all his changes are good. sum stuff is pointless but the ways he suggests to make the game faster and less random can only be good.

it wudnt mean we wud all have to play it either

really dont understand why some people are SO opposed to it. its not liek he raised the price of your burgers or insulted your mumns. he just put a lot of other peoples ideas together in an article

stop talking like there's a community.

                                give us promode.
