lol... LOL... that shows the pub servers you enjoy playing on. they dont do it because they dont like it... they do it because they cant... it is a "skill" if it were just a "mere exploit," it would have been fixed long ago in the 4-5 year span of cs..
Hmm so are roof boosting and skywalking also "skills" or long standing "mere exploits" that have yet to be fixed?

I haven't played cobble yet, I don't know. But I scrimmed it before the changes.

Unless the T's flat-out RUN LIKE HECK to bombsite B, they cannot get there before the CT's do. The CT's can either be right outside the doorway that the T's are at, or halfway across the big area to camp over near the boxes.

If you're giving them more time to get there, that practically assures that an awper can get into position to awp the T's as they come out. Practically the only way to stop an awper there is to rush and get him as he's 'halfway across', before he turns around and snipes. You could also try to out-snipe him, but that's risky. Flashes are out of the question as he's way too far away and too many objects between.

I don't think the CT's really needed a boost. But oh well.

No... those have been made illegal in leagues whether they are available or not. They may have them on ur pub server but if you dont like it, leave it? Plus those have nothing to do directly with shooting or "skills"

and thortok hes talking about giving cts more time to get in and SET UP not just get there. I still think that it was fine the way it was before because that part of the map is highly stacked to ct side to start with.

I agree with all those who say that the x-hair has somewhat changed the balance of the game. But before anyone goes on at me I have just two questions that haven't been brought up before and will make it easier for some of the beginners to understand:

-Is there anyway to change the crosshair with a sprite or another file that exists in the 1.5 or boxed CZ?

-And if yes, which one is it?

NO dave... what im saying is by letting them spawn up on the bridge you save them the time of running all the way up ramp and into tunnels when they can just get to tunnels now. So, basically they are getting there either at the same time or a bit faster
It's definetely not faster. They're further away! Ok, so before they had to take the ramp, but that didn't slow them down. In the current version they have further to run.

In addition, spawning up there also encourages them to take the other route (and snipe too).

Cobble was often a T-sided map - I confirmed this by playing it and observing games before I made the changes. The CTs needed something.

Whether or not it'll work is something I'm not sure about, but it'll certainly be interesting. If the changes lead to more exciting and more balanced games on that map, I'll be happy.

That all said, I'm always interested in what changes you think are needed... and whether these changes have done the job. Lets give it a week or two of playing it before we make up our minds though.

                Thanks, Thortok!

I obviously mis-understood it and I greatly appreciate you setting me back in the right. I appreciate it. I don't think if I could really play any less then 1600 x 1200, as the graphics are superb. But.. thanks.

The servers that don't have the delay did not restart to get the update yet.

Seems at least one of the server versions that does have the update is build 2693 which can be seen while joining the server at the top of the screen, or in the console. Not sure if the build numbers are different between Windows and Linux servers though.

Hey I just wanted to point out while in pub play the t's might have an advatage in cobble, it is very unbalanced in match play.

Unquestionably the ct's have a large advantage b/c they can stack the right site at the start of the round and use their nades to stop any possible rush, then have someone go way back in the site with an awp and stack the other side with 3 or 4 people.

CAL's records for the last season are gone, so I can't show you mathematically the advantage that the ct's have on cobble, but it is universally accepted by league players that cobble is a ct sided map.

Yes, I was just made aware of this...

Which leaves me in an awkward position - either tweak the map for pub play, or tweak it for pro play. The map is designed/flawed in such a way that trying to manage both would require huge changes.

That said, Cobble is played more often on pub games than pro games... so I could swing that way. On the other hand, pub gamers probably care less about balance than pro gamers, and probably thought it was fine the way it was before.

What I'll do is leave it a few weeks before deciding what to do, if indeed I feel anything needs to be done, and I'm given the opportunity to make the changes.

I think it does need major changes. The one small entrance is a huge bottleneck, and although you can't stick a colt on the ramp anymore thanks to the dark boxes, an AWP can still dominate because he always knows exactly where the T's are going to come out of.

This update is the worst update to CS since bunny-hop was taken out... I noticed that the scoping on the AWP and Scout was delayed, but what bothers me the most is that the Kreig 550 Commando still has a quick scope... The 550 is a Nub gun and needs to be taken out of the game period... The Scout and Awp's scope need to be put back where it was...

And another thing... .What possesed U to change anything on the awp?.... what fucking idiot decided that?!?!

If updates like these keep commign then CS will go down hill in the online gaming world.... Shit. :-\ it already is going down hill.....

                                Here is my idea:

The problem at bombsite B right now is there are 2 sniper nest opposite of each other, and not even aztec has it that bad. The sniper up in the balcony behind B and a sniper in the middle connector can really reek havoc while a rifle somewhere in between plays the bait and cleans up what the snipers miss.

I think an easy solution would be to simply remove the sniper balcony behind the bombsite B. It would still be possible to snipe the T entrance from the bombsite itself, but now a few well placed smokes and flashes can let the Ts get a better grip on taking the site.
