I think that was the general idea, heh.
Mr. T is something like GMT+800 in like Singapore or something if I recall correctly, so yeah, it'd be April over there now.narby wrote..
It's not even April yet for another 3 and change hours in your beloved England, narby. FarCry has numbed your mind! Go finish de_quarry or something, you silly mapper! :P
APRIL FOOLS MOTHERBITCHES
Anyway, the point being, since VALVe is here in the states, it's not April yet for any of us, and this was released a day previous, when it was still March for everyone. It's not an April Fools joke, though I can imagine some April Fools jokes that would be very amusing for VALVe to pull off...Para?noid wrote..
Because my heart is filled with <3. Haha, I must just be getting soft in my old age, eh? :P
Speaking of whom, Nighthawk, why'd you gotta be so goddamned nice all the time?
Three more comments I think need to be made, since they really haven't been brought up:
1) This does affect pub play as well. Many of the pubs I play on have a 13-15 round win-limit, or slightly higher max round limits. Some others have 35-40 minute map rotations, which can often lead to perhaps 14-18 total rounds getting played. Not every server is a "2hr rotation dust/dust2 only!!!11" server, and there are a few pubs I play on in which eco actually matters. I know I certainly weigh my options each round, though it's harder (obviously) to have a team perspective on your weapon loadout. Point being, don't claim it only affects match play. It affects both, in somewhat different ways.
2) Save rounds. I'm hearing a lot of complaints that this will lead to more save rounds. I can imagine the opposite as being true, really. In the early rounds, a weapon like the P90 or even a dirt cheap TMP/Mac10 really could be a big advantage over a team that decides to save and stick to their USP's. Why not pick up two extra rounds won while your enemy foolishly tries to save up for expensive guns? The idea is, those who are willing to spend money on mid-level guns may well end up dominating early rounds, and still have enough money to buy the more expensive weapons by the time their enemies are able to.
3) Finally, with the M4 price currently staying the same, and the AK price still below that, how does this create tons of extra save rounds, anyway? All it means is now the T's have to work almost as hard as the CT's to get up to the same level of weaponry. If both went up to $3500 or something, you'd have a point. With them both at the levels they are at, though, you're not looking at any change in saving time for CT's, and simply balancing the playing field with the T's.
So yeah, just a few things that came to my mind anyway. Alright, time for me to go be productive and earn my living and all that good stuff. Have fun duking it out in the comments, boys. :)Comment
