I got to this discussion late, but here's my take: Why does Valve want to micro-manage these random little aspects of the gameplay that nobody was complaining about? The bomb timer simply doesn't need to be tweaked. If you play in a league, you know how to accurately judge when the bomb will go off. And if you don't, use custom sounds that have an actual verbal countdown until you get the hang of it. Besides, the timer on the bomb would have to be pretty small and hard to read, and it would mean you couldn't use custom skins if you wanted to. Feh. I don't care though, it shouldn't really change the game much either way.Comment

You watch too many films.
Option B.
In 'real' life, at least the T is kind enough to place a big screen on the bomb, indicating how long is left till the explosion.
Besides, CS is out of date anwyay. Real life terrorists use a bomb timer of zero seconds.Comment

the digital readout would be very cool...
...but like you already said...when a ct is defusng and the bomb and the beeping is getting faster and faster and u watch the defusing process bar go and go..
...it does indeed make for some very very tnse moments..some that i love to watch almost as much as i love to be apart of...and always after i defuse when i could tell i had maybe a second more time to do it max...i always give a huge sigh of relief and it is good..
so in my opinion...leave the bomb timer the way it is
...or if possible make a clock appear in all the dead spectators screens with the amount of time left on the bomb so ony the people spectating would know the time left on the bomb...i realize this could be exploited too...but for the majority of pub play it wouldnt and it would be very cool and more exciting to watch knowing the timeleft....just like in a movie when u know the black man shouldnt go into that house after he heard the noise because u know whats there (an axe wielding mass murderer) yet he does anyway and as usual becomes the first casualty...basically the spectators know a little more than those playing and it makes for some exciting situations....Comment

It sounds like this might be a good idea for pubs since it might actually encourage people to actually defuse if they think they have enough time ... But in league play I don't think I'd like it, because like Cliff said, it might take away from the excitement of whether or not a CT is gonna get his face exploded
How about implementing a new c4 objective ... If maybe you dont have enough time to defuse, you can pick it up and run away from the bombsite to a safe zone, where you would lose your life carrying it, but your team would win, and the damn T who planted would not get those stupid unearned frags. I always find it amazing on first round how I can kill 2 guys, plant, and be 5-0 the start of next round!Comment
