A. Definitely. It's so much fun in a match or hell, even in a scrim or public server just to have those loud beeps and see your bar almost done. It's a nice thing to see people saying "WTF IT WAS SO CLOSE I LAGGED" or stuff like "HAHAHAH BOOM!" like a POD bot or something. Also I think it adds a distinctive flavor to the game. A flavor that tastes something similar to strawberry.

right considering the M O V I E swat was a M O V I E, and i was comparing real SWAT(which ive seen on those discovery or what ever channels), not fake hollywood crap (no matter the training for the movie) rolling stopping and shooting accurately, cmon buddy. climbing crates, is it really that important. no, i played the rainbow six series, you dont need to climb crates. dmg ratios for guns are horrible low. it sometimes takes 7 shots with a USP to kill someone. armour is like a no armour in this world. most cases or wearing a helmet and getting shot to the head, your unconscious, or extremely dazed, a shot to the chest, extreme pain (you will get a welt/bruise)
i hope this persons sugegstions never again get looked at... remove jumping?? then how would you 'climb' crates...
an i know this isnt 'realism' but if you watch swat (the new movie) when samuel L jackson gets colin farrell to do that training course against the other guy, he rolls and pulls off an acurate shot.. so why not after jumping?
bullets through steek and rock are up to the mapper. a texture is just a texture in this engine, it doesnt change the material at all.
hl2 will have a 'fix' for that.. so if cs2 ever becomes a game, it will probably have it too... this isnt a fix for the current engine though
why not jumping, well this guys got the answerThortok2000 wrote..
14 lbs is about right for your average sniper rifle. (awp actual weight is ~15lbs)
Only in CS can a person carry a fourteen pound gun, get flung off a car, land with barely any injury, all while holding their eye firmly pressed against the scope (and not bruising their eye), and the instant their feet touch the ground, they can shoot your left pinky with their awp, and you die. ...
cuz jumping around with heavy guns is all the more possible.Comment

WHAT NOW THE CTS ARE PsYCHIC LOLS any ways if ur going to do it it should be on the bomb LCD that would be a great improvement, ON the actual bomb lcd, but instead of a cound down (since timers vary from server to server) have a watch that just goes from 00:00~00:99 so we still have to remember how long the timer has been set to
CTs are not psychic...unless...U hack...
Edit:ps-its not to hard to add a new animation to the c4 bomb just modifying do add a new animation would be cool, execpt it should be dependednt on the serverside not client side it if the client lagg or something it will show wrong...!Comment

You must not be very adaptable. I'm really good at CS how it is (always #1 *maybe* #2 in skilled pubs) but I only get excited by making older weapons viable, because I can adapt and become good with those guns as well. I use para now, as it is, every once and a while not really much, it will just add a new viable weapon to the game. Considering on maps like iceworld I can get at least 4 or 5 kills / round with para if I play my cards right, I wonder how good it will be now! (if they only make it as much better as the elites, then it won't be that good).
Wonder when the changes to the Para are coming... I'm definitely dreading that one.Comment

right, that's why I routinely headshot AWPers on Aztec with my M4, when they're still back at the bottom of the ramp by their spawn and I'm almost against the wall under the bridge, in every version prior to v1.6. All of a sudden *I* lost *my* aim by voodoo magic because the version number changed. It's not because the game's been changed at all. It's just because the number "1.6" makes my brain do the funky chicken. When I fire up v1.5 again and I still make all the same shots I always did, it's because that version doesn't have the number "1.6" in it. If v1.5 were actually called v1.6 then I would suck in it too, not because anything's different, but just because it contains "1.6" in it. And I can still shoot in DoD because DoD's version isn't 1.6 yet, but as soon as it is v1.6 then I'll magically suck in DoD too. Makes sense. Makes a lot of sense.
Clearly you have no brain. But then, that's quite plain, because you can't even spell "you" because apparently it's just too hard for you.Ghengis wrote..

Let's have this be the next CSN poll, eh?
I don't see any need for having a C4 countdown timer, really, as the beeps have always been an effective, though at times fuzzy (to add to the excitement) way of guessing if you have enough time to defuse.
Basically, I don't see how it'd encourage defusing at all. What I would like to see is a hud element that constantly reminds someone that the bomb is planted. You know how the C4 hud element blinks while you're in a bomb zone as a T? Have something similar for CT's that blinks for the duration of the countdown, maybe in pace with the beeping (slower, then faster).
Before you all start decrying additional hud elements, you could always have the _ah info (the one that controls newb text such as "you have killed an enemy!" and such) or something along those lines control whether you see it, and just have it default to ON so new players have it until they're vetran enough to learn how to remove it.
That's the kind of thing I'd like to see. The main problem seems to be people not going for the bomb in the first place. A more blatant reminder might help encourage the objectives. Overall, I don't see it as a positive or useful change for the game, but it's not the end of the world if it's added in.
Now for the random other crap in here. The only guns I noticed any change in accuracy for recently have been the pistols while jumping. I can still kill people just fine with all other guns. The upper torso hitbox still often gets in the way of the head hitbox when shooting from behind, along with various other discrepencies (head hitbox too far behind when holding a pistol, for instance). Those haven't changed a ton, though, and I'm still able to hit people with guns just as I was before. I find it ironic that half of the people in here lament too many headshots, and others come in claiming they can't get headshots anymore.cradle_of_filth wrote..
It is theoretically possible to contain HE damage so it doesn't go through any surface. It'd take a lot of extra hitscans, though, so I don't see it as a likely change. Also, it would massively impact tactics for league play, and really would require a more powerful grenade to make up for the loss of wall-ignoring damage range.
the HE through the wall is something i forgot to mention as well. that is definite must. and bullets through steel and rock so thick has to get dropped too.
The BSP nature of the HL engine means that bullets passing through any surface cannot be changed. You're gonna have to wait until HL2 for this kind of functionality. For more info on that one, check out the BSP overview section of the Summerblue CS Report.Comment
