I'm actually rather disappointed to hear this. Can't you just disable the weather effects on the client side, or did CAL disallow that or something? I personally find the rain rather enjoyable, and a pleasant addition to an unpleasant map.



I don't particularly like seeing things get taken out for the sake of league players, when honestly league play is still by far the minority of players. The money changes a while back benefitted everyone, but I don't see this doing the same. In general, many maps lack good ambience, and it's disappointing to see the only map with decent weather effects have them removed so soon.

Nighthawk: changing cl_weather is illegal in CAL (why, though, is a mystery). Also, I would say higher FPS is for the benefit of everyone, not just league players.

If you can't handle simple weather effects on a 5+ year old engine, then you need to upgrade your computer and shut up. Complaining about, "omg my FPS drops on Aztec, WTF it ruined my perfect 1337 h4x score" makes you no better than the people who say, "This new version sucks, I can't bunnyhop anymore. CS is for nubs now lolol."

yeah, it's true. it's been a known fact for a while now and it's THUNDER and NOT lightning. Lightning was taken out a long time ago. I find the thunder the most annoying part of aztec. The cricket noise in aztec 1.5 isn't as annoying as the thunder.

I personally have cl_weather whatever on off, not because my comp can't handle it but just because it obscures vision and makes it harder to see enemies and stuff, but I agree, they should not take it out just cause of cal. If cal doesn't want it, they should just change their rules and allow players to remove it.

i agree, the problem lies with the league not letting them change the value, not the map. I think what has been done to aztek is great... it is one of the most innovative maps out there. Nothing compares to aztek in the detail sense of things.. i love having weather there... infact when i got my new card, i turned weather up to 3.. then you get a misty fog also!

sorry guy, the 5 year old engine you're talking about has fps issues at its current state, so upgrading your system most likely wont help anything.



without league play cs would probably be dead, now go cry about the possible changes some more.

it rains so hard and not to mention that fog that makes your fps drop even harder but the effects are so cool to watch.
