At least admit its a map/bot-pack, not a new game.Quickdraw, you might think it's a rip off but ppl who like counterstrike but don't have the decent connection to play it or ppl who never played the original Counterstrike get a great oppurtunity to play the game offline with decent bot support and up-to-date graphics.

2. The bots are good, I did not say they are.
3. No up-to-date graphics in this game. Just additional maps. (read the damn review)
4. The people who don't have great connection should not buy the worlds no.1 multiplayer online fps...
5. The people who don't have great connection should spend their 40 dollars and get a REAL single player fps with REAL up-to-date graphics. CZ has up-to-date graphics for 1998.
6. The people who don't have great connection and still want to play cs should spend the 40 dollars on 1-2 months of good cable service. Once obtaining the good connecton, within a month's time, find and dl all the cz content that can be found on the net (as most people like me already have). Then they can realize how shitty cz is relative to the REAL new games coming out this year. At which point they can come back and thank me and proceed to yell at your stupid ass. Then with the remainding time, they can realize that cz = 1.61 and just dl the steam cs1.6 which now supports offline play. With that they then just install the cz maps and deleted scenes skins (which i both have so with their connection they can contact me) and then after they have the PODbots, skins, and maps, they can use the remaing time they have with a good conncetion and dl a massive amount of porn, which is not available with the retail cz. Or another option. They can get a cheaper DSL connection for 20$, and with the remaining money, buy a good mouse, or perhaps a year old game (as opposed to the 3 year old cz), or they can buy an old shoe and throw it at the numbskull who suggested that they purchase cz.Comment

Counter-Strike is like tetris. We all sit around playing it still because of the gameplay, not the graphics. (Besides, it's nice to have a game I can pump up the anti-aliasing on and not suffer performance problems).
Yeah, a nice graphical update would be great, but think of what is involved... There are many servers that have custom skin detection and whatnot to prevent cheating. To change the skins, Valve would have to tiptoe carefully and make sure they do it right. Maybe this is a possible update in the future. Who knows.
As for the bots, obviously bots will never play perfectly like humans. When I played CSX, I was extremely impressed. They play similarly to humans and are by far the best bots I have seen yet.
I anticipate the release of CS:CZ not because I want a new game, but because it is the next update to my favorite game. Yeah, it may cost $40, but I'll admit. I'm hooked. I'll pay what they make me pay.Comment

The fact that CZ has updated all of my favorite maps (dust2, aztec, militia, italy, inferno) is enough for me to buy the game. Not to mention the single player stuff will be entertaining for CS veterans to test their sills. But mainly I wanna play the new militia, and the other updated maps. Can't wait.Comment

Just wished they canned the whole thing and worked with converting cs to the HL2 engine.
I won't be willing to pay full whack for something which is old. £35 for a game running on a 5yr old engine is daylight robbery. Would you go and spend £20K on a new car or £20K on the same model but 5 yrs old? I don't think so.
I'm gutted they have not introduced any more guns, gas grenades, molotov cocktails, or gas masks.
Yes I know it would be nice to run a round with "Updated" maps but to cough up for that? Dream on Valve.

Just to let you guys know, the other review (look at the news) stated that the review version didn't have the ritual models in them. The Final game will have the Ritual models (only for bots and CZ servers).Comment

hum , i got cz already :) got it a month ago , cs is much beter
only cz got the same skins and maps like cs but more stuff
u can use the skins from cz for cs , i tryed it and it worked
the relaese date in belgium is i think 31 march check :

well, i got a warzed version of both the ritual CZ and turtle-rock CZ (i'm sorry valve--but you don't deserve $40 for either of them). the thing about pod-bots in CS 1.6--go for it. the turtle-rock CZ isn't that great. yes, the reskinned maps are nice, but they lack a lot of the humor and flair of the original CS maps. the ritual CZ makes a good $20-$25 budget FPS. if vavle had packaged that entire campaign (which i found rather enjoyable) along with the turtle rock CZ, it'd sell fairly well. the warez turtle-rock CZ is actually better than the one you'll buy, because it includes the high-definition models compatible with CS 1.6. only the retail deleted scenes will have these, and only the v_models are compatible with CS 1.6. sounds don't all work properly either. CZ could have been really cool--Valve is making a big mistake by not packaging the ritual CZ and... basically the Warez CZ you can get now. just think of how well Blue Shift selled simply because of the HD-pack. that's what CZ could have been.Comment
