September 30, 2003 was the only release date given by Valve, April '04 was speculation and summer is a Valve target date, not a release date.



Summer isn't even a date in the first place and could mean any time between June and September.

The only reason HL2 had a chance against Doom3 was the release date and now Doom3 has the closest one.
