Actually I've scrimmed with CAL invite clans all week long, and everyone involved in the pugs, from CAL open to CAL invite level all agree that the shield has a bad effect on CS.
Also, I'm very interested in seeing official matches with the shield, after that it'll be much easier to comment.The problem is that theres no longer the feel of stalking other players and having it out over "who has better aim" or who is more "stealthy" (if that makes any sense).
Well league matches must be very different from pubs then because I certainly very much get the feeling of stalking and stealth when maneuvering with or against the shields.
**edit: uhh the sentence "matches must be different from pubs" was not the most intelligent one to use, you know what I mean tho**But it just changes the game too much. Its just like throwing a rocket launcher into the mix.
By the way I'm not absolutely convinced that a rocket launcher would be an entirely bad idea.
Not as a weapon that can be bought tho, but as a public server team balancing device awarded to the badly losing team... along with flamethrowers, rifle grenade launchers, tear gas grenades, katanas and chainsaws! :)

Oh, uh what's this thread about again? Oh yeah, I like 1.6, but something someone said earlier, about it feeling weird. Something to do with recoil or aim or hitboxes. I noticed that last night. I was constantly all over people. Knowing they should have been dead. Cause if it was 1.5 I know for a fact they would have been dead, but something has changed. And issues with the shield, I think it's fine for pub play, even though people will be completely nub about using it and how they use it, but it's fine. However, for league play, NO. It's going to ruin it, as far as I see it anyway. Anyway, just my 2 cents that you can go throw into a wishing well now.Comment

Steam is ok, just have to have a little time. Took me a day before i got the full. Also you people complaining probally didnt even buy CS/HL most likely got a cdkey generator. So chill out, also if you have a good connection ping times are great.

wtf are you people complaining about steam WORKS PERFECTLY didnt bug once yet
First I installed it on my pc via steam updates , true it was long but it worked
then I downloaded the steam install with cs cache file all in one from file planet and it took me 1:30minutes (because of the waiting line) to set up cs 1.6 on my labtop ready to play
The only complaint i have is the shield, it seems invincible even if you get shot with an awp or a para. I thought the shield was meant to reduce the damage not making you invincible. Ak bullets and colt were suppose to make damage but thats not the case hereComment
