AWPs+Sheilds+Lagtec(aztec)=Fun for all!!

mostly just bs but the idea about making old guns useful is a wonderfully *new* idea...and by new i mean something nobody has yelled about in a while and it is a sopectacular idea..cause how cool would the tmp be if it killed people...neo status.....the mac10 is a great headshot gun but..its the mac10..and as for the sniper rifles besides the awp and scout...dont get me started...or better fuck it ..get rid of the useless guns people only buy if its a one team pwn fest and they want to say "d00d mE pWnd u w1t dA tmp" and add in new guns that l33t pwnrs will buy..there are many to chose from....put on ur thinkin caps guys...u can do it..and bring me some fuckin cookies!!!!

If the other guns were made useful then where would be the sense of balance? There has to be some reason for guns costing different amounts.

You can't expect the TMP to be as useful as the mp5 when it is supressed (less damage and accuracy) and has no stock (accuracy again).



*IMO all the guns are useful when you use them with the correct tactics

You know, the shield encourages teamwork on the terrorist side. If there are two shields, and 3 of you... just rush the hell out of them. It is not that very hard to figure out. Has worked for me more than 90% of the time.

Teamwork does not happen on public servers. You cannot just make it happen. The shield has not made a singular increase in teamplay in public servers and it never will. It won't increase teamplay in clan play either since it's not like most clans just ignored teamplay before 1.5.



You can't make the shield out to be something it really isn't. It's no more of a teamwork enhancer than the C4 being planted from the CT's perspective is.

This is easily the worst software I have ever had to deal with.. Valve, please just let us use hlsw etc. to connect to Counterstrike and stick with patches for updates. Save Steam for later down the road when you release HL2 and whatever else. This is really sucking ..

Steam works ok for a day then not at all for a day. Then you get "game not available" and other ridiculous errors.

Gonna kill this game if things keep going like this for too long..

Look, people, the shield may affect league play, or pub play, or both, in a significantly negative way, but it's still too early to tell, the beta nor the FEW DAYS 1.6 has been out can't be considered good evidence. Give it time, if the shield needs nerfing it will be nerfed, I bet.

Actually I've scrimmed with CAL invite clans all week long, and everyone involved in the pugs, from CAL open to CAL invite level all agree that the shield has a bad effect on CS. The game is just changed too much. Believe me, I LOVED the shield through out the beta, and thought everyone else would. That was only because I was playing it on public servers though, and never had the chance to scrim since it never went final.



The problem is that theres no longer the feel of stalking other players and having it out over "who has better aim" or who is more "stealthy" (if that makes any sense).



For instance, on Aztec I scrimmed with TAU the other night. It was just an all out rush over and over again to gain position first, but with Shields. I was the only one Awping, and people like Destroyer were just baiting with shields. It seemed as if nobody even needed to buy rifles anymore. God forbid a Terrorist gets a shield, all he has to do is plant the bomb, and then run away. As soon as a CT goes to defuse, he simply comes back every few seconds to check up on the bomb, and caps him with the USP.



Trust me, I'd love for the shield and everything to be great. But it just changes the game too much. Its just like throwing a rocket launcher into the mix.



Im out of here and home to play though. Still just as addicted. Just hoping things will go back to how they were =(

Couldn't agree more, bud. Nicely said. TO ALL THE BASHERS: You also seem to not have realized that the final version of steam has had roughly a week now of being online and widely used. Imagine those 100eds of thousands of people upgrading to the new system, getting steam accounts in such a short time... for the most popular online first person shooter on this planet. That transition is BOUND TO BE rocky... stop bitching and give steam... lets say, another two weeks? You'll love it by then.

I'm already loving it now.

i don't have a beef with the way the "other" guns perform just the cost/effect balance. if a MP5 is $1500 then a MAC-10 should be about $750 and a TMP around $850. a real MAC-10 is a POS compared to a MP5 i know that. "$1400 is a rip off, where did you buy that MAC-10...sharper image?"
