EDIT: Might as well wait till tomorrow, all the fileplanet lines are like 200 minutes and I have better things to do than babysit my computer for this.

Hmmm cdr, this reminds me...I would actually pay $20 at my local game store to get the full install now, than try and download 728M on my slow unreliable connection. Anybody else? What would you pay?

I agree with Bozer on this one.

Here's my useless thoughts:



1. Steam connecting to valve each time you run it, wheter on the Net or the LAN, or playing yourself with bots.

2. Steam final more buggy than Steam Beta.

3. Steam integrated to CS. Changing map during gameplay is a nice addition. Is it possible to just run CS without running Steam?

4. This is more related to 1.6, but sooner or later a mod will come out to ban the tactical shield. The funny thing is, you can only use a pistol with the shield, which means that the USP is a weak weapon, and the thinking is that you would be somewhat disavantaged. Yeah right...

Maybe using the knife with the shield would alleviate some problems :)



Now if someone could tell me if its possible to see the console while connecting, like in the good old days.

Anyone know if you can use the installers for things like DoD, dmc if you already have steam with HL and CS installed and "working"?

Amen brother: I dont get this, valve is turning its back on ALL 56kers. How the fuckl am i supposed to download 300+ megs of steam and cs1.6??? A 1.5-1.6 update i prolly could have managed. But now, WON will be gone, and i cant play without steam and like a whole NEW CS, not just updated. Thanks a bunch.

I'm on 56k, and i got it all downloaded. Just set the download going, and go out and do something else, like stare at the sun for a while?

I like 1.6 except for the unbalanced riot shield which really isn't too bad except for the bugs and the fact that they implemented steam a tad bit early as obviously noticed because of the numerous problems people are having. It's a good concept but they got it out too soon.

Well - if they want peeps to buy HL2 over Steam, they needed it fully deployed before the 30th. It sucks cause of the bugs, but I'm guessing they'd rather not delay HL2.

1.6 has it's issuses



shield needs de-bugged..or chucked ..



the smoke needs fixed..15fps from a 9800pro and about the same from a gfx5900 ultra ..both on p4 3.0 ht ...?



And some sections in maps like aztec ( just at the top of ramp near bomb site A) fps again suddenly drops down from 99 capped down to 20 fps then shoots back up ...?



Friends is good but needs looked at , cause it is turning into wallhacking by proxy .....yeah yeah , team talk has been here a while i know...but guys if you get caught cheating in a test .... but claim this line " but i didnt cheat i never seen the answers he only told me them"...roflmao...so give it a rest or just go and download a wallhack and admit your a twat :p



The new guns i quite like ...also the glock is muched improved ....maps changes are mostly cosmetic bar a few ..but still not to bad ..



I like 1.6(and will play it more once the bugs and exploits go), but funny not as much as I liked the beta?
