wtf, steam is shit. Why are they changing the whole system for 1.6? Now cdskeys can be tracked thruogh steam as i have heard and since ur steam id is also ur cdkey, i say dats just bullshit.

cs 1.6 sucks, WHERES MY M60? the blow torch and the rocket launcher?, man this sucks....AND yes the shield is unbalanced, ct just have to obuy them all and thats it they win, they do like asterix and the romans, (the turtle!) barricade in shield and wait for the time to depleted... how gay! this will just add more sissies to cs(like we needed more)...

I don't think it has anything to do with your connection speed. If I had to guess the reason for the timeout is that your system takes too long to preload the map, textures, models, and whatnot to play that particular game. Basically, let it time out the first time, and then try again. If you're in the same boat as me, it should work after that.



I can't really complain; I'm running an AMD Duron 600, well below the minimum requirements for Steam.

Hmmm... On one hand i can understand adding new content, its their game after all... new guns thats fine, but is it NEEDED? Is a shield really needed? This isn't exactly a "Riot Control" situation. Realistically how many SWAT teams bust into a house toting a metal shield?

I had a problem I was incapable of doing anything when dead. I couldn't type, change views, switch plaers, check scores... nothing. The only thing I could do was bring up the console. I tried disconnecting and joining another server but the problem persisted. What a bunch of crappy crap crap.

I was wondering how to set ADMIN privis in a users.ini file using the new STEAM ID's ??? Any been able to do this yet ? BEcause I have not been able to figure it out quite yet since it isn't just a single number anymore...



I mean...the users.ini file already uses colons ( : ) as the divider between WONIDs:password:ADMINaccesslevel but since the STEAM IDs have colons in them how will AdminMod read this.. ?

The sad part is that all of us can keep whining and complaining and valve isn't even going to read these posts, and even if they do. there just going to sit back and say ohh well because they know that after about a week or so when the servers aren't overloaded and everyone is playing CS and other steam games the constant whining and complaining will end (Except for the usual cheater complaints), face it in the end we love to play CS so much that we don't mind getting bent over by valve, sometimes even without the lube )o( all the complaints will stop once we get the damn thing to work (Next Week)

valve, come out with another patch that fixes all this mess man, don't you guys test it out right before releasing, include de_vegas.wad and all other wads that are needed to play the standard maps, as_tundra.wad and stop the problems with connecting and starting up, the damn children underage error and all the other errors.

Some people are missing the point we are not just talking about hl and its mod's ........hl2 remember ......and what about other titles valve release...or even serria ... Homeworld used WON will Homeworld2 now use steam ........how many titles will be on it ....it can hardly cope with what it has and check the numbers playing on steam about half the usuall stats ....there are still a ton of guys out playing on WON servers ...who amazingly dont know about steam or even 1.6.....well 1.6 valve couldn't even make their mind up wether it was final or not even after release...so we will have these guys doing the steam death march when WON finally goes .......and if I have to have steam working just to play sp & lan games ...then i will not be buying any more steam titles .
