Over-all I think 1.6 is awesome... Steam decreases my lag.... (i used to have 100's - 250's now I have 50's - 100's) The riot shield really balances out the AWP, so its fair, and funny as hell. My fps is actually better... Sound is better.... I do know of a few bugs (such as spectators not being able to talk sometimes). But those can be fixed.

I didn't even know that there was a no-no-steam petition or a no-steam petition for that matter. Lol, I would sign the no-steam petition but i'm afraid that VALVe fould send out a ninja death-squad to hunt be down. or just blacklist my steam id (if I ever get one)

Btw, do you guy's think that the riot shield will make it into cal.

I think it's kinda like the awp, it's a nub weapon and you hate it...unless you're the one that has it.

When I go into cs, I get about 10 seconds then my entire comp locks up. Have to hard boot it. Hurrah for valve...

Well, I'm not signing it. I like the program. Nice features, nice look to it. I haven't had any problems with it other than one or two ctrl.alt.del's at the beginning, but it all worked out with no more probs, got my scripting issue figured out, which was my fault for having the bind aliases cap-locked. I didn't freak out when it took forever to get passed the "Preparing to play counter strike..." window. I figured it was doing something, common sense will tell you it's going to take a while because the entire planet is bombarding the steam servers at the same time in hopes of that low non nubbish steamid. There's a couple things I would like to see different with 1.6 though. But all in all, I'm happy with it.

Can anyone actully play 1.6, Like connect to a server and play!? Mine locks up at "Valadting system resources" everytime I try to connect to a server. Any ideas?

when im playing cs1.6 (believe me, its possible!!!), open console then i press some letters ( D, P, V, backspace) my console close?? have n e 1 experienced that?? what should i do? (i cant insert my nick name venom666 cuz V close console!!!)

valve suck ass big fuckin time, the only thing i like in computer sofware is winamp : its free, free of advertising, and IT RUNS WELL EVERYTIMES not like that crap valve pooped in our hand... i understand that a lot of people r downloadin at the same time, but just imagine when every user will get steam how slower it will be?? valve just miscalculated their shittez...and its buggy as hell,(at least i can spam microsoft with bug reports! :)

Great. I have CS and HL installed and Steam ready. Problem #1: DoD doesn't work cause Steam corrupted my update. But I don't really care about DoD. What I care about is that THE SHIELD IN CS IS TOTALLY UNBALANCED. It shouldn't be impenitrable, it should be smaller, and i think that an AWM round at close range IN THE PLASTIC part of it would go through. Some maps are totally unplayable now. I.E. de_prodigy. I played on it for 30 minutes, only to be beaten EVERY time by CTs with shields even the devil himself would agree are unfair. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD VALVE, FIX THE SHIELDS OR I'M COMING AFTER YOU WITH ONE OF THEM AND A DEAGLE. AND YOU AND I BOTH KNOW THAT IF I WALK IN WITH ONE OF THOSE SHEILDS I CAN TAKE YOU ALL ON CAUSE NOBODY WILL BE ABLE TO SHOOT ME! MWUHHAAAAHHAHAAA!!!

here is one i can't figure out...

so i downloaded steam with cs cache and now if i am patient enough, i can get into counterstrike but using my cable connection i only get a ping of about 150-200 when i used to always be under 100 on the same damn servers. how the hell did this happen?

oh yeah now if i want to play the normal half-life i need to be connected to the internet which also means that if steam doesn't work i can't get into the regular game unless i uninstall steam ... great

no you dont err....well i think you can play hl without being online..but anyway...well..unless its mp...but dude most of the time its the server location i have 10 mb d/l topspeed adsl but i get 200 ping alot cause theres an imbalance of server loaction...there are waay to many swedish and deutche servers if your in us and you play on one of those evne if you have t1 your ping will suck
