Same problem with me, it tells me its unavailable or my internet connection is down. When I did get in once, its telling me I don't have CS installed, this is all freakin bs.

gotham mate we have 30 clan members and have a to of other clans who are friendly.....now the shield during beta didnt seem that bad .. but now it seems to hard to hit when the ct has it in firing postion and yes it is killing it 1.6 we watched 4 servers of 20 people empty on dust because 8 out of ten ct's had shields...they move to quick are unrealistic to the point of the absurd .......again riot shield or kevelar shiled do not stop atuomatic rifles like ak47 or m16 vairant or any of the other rifles for that fact ....



and the common tatics we see on public servers was a T to pick up a shield kill all the hossies then go camp in a corner untill timer runs out ?



Or as ct 3 guys with shields block all the tunnels in dust forcing the t's to camp or hit the tunnel and get creamed.....



I see tons of no shield server in the offing and cant see it making it into to toruneys and ladders.

Posting to proudly announce that I have had no trouble with steam, and have had all the games running 3 hours after launch. Including all my mods. (Desert Crisis)

Now the dumb son of a bitchin program got past logging in, is a working process, but I can't get to it because it didn't go into my system tray!!!

The main problems of steam are certainly that steam can't handle all of this traffic, and its even worse when you have to contact steam whenever you want to do somthing, like logging in, or opening counter-strike, all of these tasks require to get authentication from steam which really lags everything.



I dont know what valve was thinking but steam is a good program, valve just underestimated how much bandwidth is really needed to run this thing officially, and now with all the WON servers being shut down it forces all of the other thousands of people who play other mods onto steam, which causes even more lag!



Dont get me wrong but steam was a smart idea I just dont think they had the resources to keep it running at a good pace so people can actually play games.

hmmm all yesterday i slaved trying to get steam to work... and finally this morning I was able to play 1.6... at first riot shields were the shit.. then annoying... then they started to me piss me off royally... galil and famas are ok(i guess they dont unbalance anything)

Now the fucking program doesn't even ask me to log in..it goes straight to processes and skips the system tray. Piece of shit coding...it did this during the beta as well. Went straight to processes and completely skips the system tray and logging in.

OK NOW IM REALLY PISSED OFF AT STEAM! I got 1.6 to work last night and i was happy as hell. Then i open steam today, and try to log in and it gives me the same error i had problems with yesterdat "Cannot connect to steam network..." Now by sum miracle im on the games list, but when i click on CS it says steam will dl 350 mb onto hard drive AND I DLED THE STEAM PACKAGE THING! OMFG!!! WHAT IS WRONG!?!?!?!? PLEASE HELP!!!!

it would do valve good to consider some very large, and very pricy upgrades to their servers and the amount of bandwidth they have.
